very interesting take on the Carrier deal by Bernie Sanders
essentially the company blackmailed Trump and he gave in these jobs that he "saved" ,are all at great expense to the taxpayers in effect they are now all heavily government subsidized and every CEO in AMuRIkA now knows they can similarly black mail the government for massive subsidies apparently Trump is just a big old socialist and has no problems forcing taxpayers to provide massive job subsidies for private corporations Bernie Sanders: Donald Trump ‘Has Endangered’ U.S. Jobs With Carrier Deal http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/...b09e21702cdedc |

details forth coming on the Carrier deal
taxpayers paying only $636 per job apparently ? so Carrier is getting 1.4 million in tax breaks BUT by moving to Mexico they could have saved 65 million ? something about this stinks to high heaven |

First of all, I have to say that the 1000 jobs that were apparently saved are very welcome. That's a lot of families going into the holidays knowing that they're much more secure than they thought a a few days ago. I believe there were 1400 jobs on the line, and I'm not sure if the others will be saved, but I'm guessing we'll hear more in the weeks to come.
My biggest concern after I heard it has already been mentioned by Satori. Trump is parading it around as an example of what he's done, but nobody really knows what it took to make it happen because we're being left out of the loop, as if this was a private real estate deal and not in the public domain. We have no idea what really brought about the change of plan - the prospect of being held up to public ridicule, the threat of it's parent company losing defense contracts, or some kind of lucrative financial incentive? If it's the last one, I think Trump has set a dangerous precedent. I'm sure there are savvy business people watching this unfold right now and wondering if the threat of a move abroad is all it might take to secure grants, tax breaks or favors from their local, state or federal government that might not have been available before. |

Look guys get real how do you think Texas and other states get companies to move to their states...they get tax breaks! 7 million is chump change compared to all of the other taxes they will get from saving those jobs. Not to mention the millions it will take to bring that plant up to date...taxes paid for all of the products paid for needed to update that plant.
7 million over many years is a drop in the bucket. You all better take on a subject you know something about. What do you think would happen to the houses that these 1100 people who would have lost their jobs, the taxes lost the business lost because the 1100 did not have jobs, restaurants, grocery stores, car repair shops... more and more. The saving of these 1100 jobs is saving a lot more than you know. |
