Bird Flu sensitisation programme in town

Chennai, July 8:

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Chennai, conducted a sensitisation programme on Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) as part of Doctor's Day celebration, at Rajan Eye Care Hospital, recently.

        Mohan Rajan, medical director, Rajan Eye Care Hospital was conferred the Doctor's Day award by IMA, for his commitment and dedication to poor patients and for his impartial delivery of quality eye care to all.

        M Balasubramanian, national Vice-president, IMA and N Muthurajan, IMA State Joint Secretary and Secretary of the Government Doctor's Association of Tamilnadu, delivered a lecture on Avian Influenza.

Apparently a "sensitisation programme" is an awareness campaign. Maybe that should have been obvious?

Campaign against Avian Influenza

Chennai, July 2:

        An awareness programme on Avian Influenza is being held today in Rajan Eye Care Hospital at T Nagar here as part of the Doctors' Day celebrations. The campaign is being organised jointly by the Indian Medical Association and PLAN International .

        Dr Dharam Singh, joint secretary of the IMA headquartered in New Delhi, has consented to be the chief guest.

        Dr G Raghavelu, State president of IMA (Tamilnadu chapter), is expected to participate in the awareness programme.
