Just wanted to share you guys - I have been accepted into a training program that will make me a registered counselor in the state of Washington. I am currently a CNA and do plan to continue my license but the jump to mental health will be great for my resume and career. I just got the email today. The training will take me to Tacoma, WA where I will probably be put up in a hotel for a couple days. Or at least I understand this to be so far. I will receive a letter this week with the appropriate information.

Thanks for your well wishes, I appreciate your support guys.
I'll be working in/managing the consumer resource center which is still in development. I've passed along a lot of ideas for it while it's still time enough to do so. I thought we could offer taxi scrip for a discounted price (dependent on budget), my office would take care of all the bus pass applications which would free up time for case managers. I'd like some computers for the clients and just this morning thought a couple of video games might be great for the clients, the quarters going to the budget for Sound Mental Health. Basically, other than this, collapse some paperwork that's minor but takes time to my office, freeing up time for other personnel. I thought we could use the computers to search for jobs (for those who are in DVR). Emailing a resume is faster and easier than taking an entire trip per day just to drop off an application, hiring can take months. That's how I get all my jobs, I ended up with as much as 10 interviews per month. Anyone have any ideas? |
