The incidence of dengue has grown dramatically around the world in recent decades. The actual numbers of dengue cases are underreported and many cases are misclassified. One recent estimate indicates 390 million dengue infections per year (95% credible interval 284–528 million), of which 96 million (67–136 million) manifest clinically (with any severity of disease).1 Another study, of the prevalence of dengue, estimates that 3900 million people, in 128 countries, are at risk of infection with dengue viruses.2

So now, with 250 cases in Hawaii, they have declared a state of emergency. It would seem there is a rush for someone to declare something as we move towards elections in the U.S. and this is not a new problems. We have known about this for months - even years - even almost a decade. Why now?

First of all with Zika, again it is very hard with the test that you must wait for versus the PCR to accurately tell Zika from Dengue.  The thousands of cases they keep announcing in Brazil and Venezuela were never truly confirmed and the link between micro-cephalic children has not been verified either. They are working on it but the article I posted on a huge level of pesticides in the water of these countries which has existed for the last two years could have caused a lot of it.

One of the problems we have here while maybe it is not racism, is elitism. As long as these tropical diseases are in under-developed countries (third world nations) no one gets that excited. When Ebola hit West Africa there were horror films of children dying and no doctors and panic and rioting in the streets. Suddenly we have a few cases in the U.S. and it is all over the headlines and after months of doing little they finally get worried.

It is the same with Zika and Dengue. We get one case, one case transferred in the U.S. sexually and everyone is worried. We get 250 cases in Hawaii and they declare an emergency. Perhaps there are other forces at work here - i.e. the election.

Yes, sadly many things get back to politics and honestly we have a group in the U.S. who simply do not want to leave. If we can somehow create a "national emergency" of an epidemic which is in full force they will call off the elections. That is right.  Recently as they began to equate Swine Flu with Nuclear attack that opened the door for executive orders to declare martial law if we had a bad Pandemic or threat of anarchy with sick people and hospital overwhelmed.
