I am back after a long time away. brought freeze dried foods and dried foods etc etc. still have some of the basic preps from before I had to relocate. Working on buying a house so we will have all of our stuff in a dry safe place. will have a wood buring stove available as an option. GF has a job now and is able to shoot guns. Took a shooing class at local college. Will be moving to house as soon as possible. Brought a mauser k98 and a taurus judge. Will start to actively prep this spring and into summer. Hopefully we will be able to save money to prep.

Beautiful rifles. I had the chance to shoot one a few years ago and the bolt action is a work of art. Made someone else's Mosin Nagant M44 look like it was carved out of tractor parts with a bench grinder. That said, Mosins are cheaper and just as reliable.
Older rifles like the Mauser, Mosin, and the Enfield all kick like a mule, but that can also work against you if you're looking to get one for home defense. They're loud and scary, but capable of killing your neighbor a couple of houses down if you miss your intended target. I remember reading that a round from a Mosin has the same energy at 500 meters as a .44 Magnum at point blank range. Great on the battlefield, but not so good when it's makes you a threat to innocent bystanders living a zip code away. But if you do run out of ammo, with an older rifle you can stick them with the bayonet. Or turn it around and beat them to death. |

Update: Had to move again. GF and I are still together and are still planning. Mauser works well and is a thing of beauty. Put a scope on mine and it is a killer gun. 195 grain bullets does the trick. Nagants are cheaper but prefer the mauser action which will out last anything. Looking for a shotgun. 12 gauge mossburgs are nice, but need something bantam sized. Thanks

We are in some interesting times. Local doctors asking me about the flu issues and problems with pandemics. Something is up, don't know if they are scared or what is going on. Got flu shot and two other shots. live in central Kansas and it's not zika.

I don't remember exactly what type of disabilities you guys have, but if you are needing any type of medications, I would think that would be at the top of my list. Then I would think any type of special foods or drinks that you might need and wouldn't be able to get.

Penham is correct you need to stock all meds you need and anything that keeps you going with your disability. If you can't get out to get water or food you will have to keep more of those that most of us. I have a large bodies of water with in 1-3 miles from my house so that is where I plan to get water if needed. I have many ways to sanitize this water also. If you can get out and get water make sure you have a way to sanitize the water.
Hope this helps if you have specific questions please ask we have many "experts". |

Doctor asked me a very strange question a few hours ago. he asked if I knew about Pandemic Flu. He then told me that he is worried about the new avian flu virus in china and Mongolia. I was flabbergasted, did not say much to him. Something is going on and I am asking. Does anyone know what is going on here ? is there something going on in china ?
