Dutchsinse claims he can calculate more or less the sequence of earth-movements;

If I am correct a few remarks; 1 I notice increase activity in earthmovement around the globe and 2one replacement of a "shell"in the earthscrust involves such an amount of energy that it does have consequences, "earthmovements (volcanic and quake) as a kind of ballet". 3 In earths history there were periods with a lot of movements and more quiet episodes, we might be moving to a more active time.

Thanks Josh

Interesting info and vids, DJ. What it appears this may all culminate to is watch out California. But I agree with OHC. Isn't a whole lot if anything a person can do to be prepared for that.

I was reading an article yesterday that claimed there are more volcanoes currently erupting than the annual average for the 20th century (and of course now I can't find it to include a link). And they just discovered the magma chamber beneath Yellowstone is much larger than previously believed. Lots of things under our feet that could spoil your day...

OHC and onefluover, the whole idea of "Earthquakes Without Frontiers" (first time I heard from them) is that there is a lot to do to prepare for an earthquake. Housing can be made more earthquake-proof, water, gas,oil-transport-lines and electricity can be made "more easy to repare or cut off to limit the danger of fires.

Another thing I noticed that did change the last years is that earthquakes become more predictable. I have been following "Dutchsinse" for some time and he is looking at earthmovements in a new way.

A major earthquake in the himalayas influences the watersupply of half the worldspopulation (http://www.poodwaddle.com/worldclock/pop5/. Earthquakes in Japan (Fukushima biggest nuclear accident ever) and Haïti (cholera), Sumatra (more or less global tsunami) are worldevents.

Both India and China-effected by these earthquakes have flu-problems. Wars and disasters with epidemics means pandemics with a bit of bad luck.

The "north-west volcanic system" in North America might be that big-inter connected under even parts of the pacific, Canada, maybe even south to California, that I do not think life on earth can survive if that system would explode in the most extreme way. The power that would be released would be the same as a meteorite-collision. Yellowstone is not a super-volcano but a "super-super-volcano" that can cause a magnitude 10+ earthquake (http://earthscience.stackexchange.com/questions/875/are-richter-magnitude-10-earthquakes-possible).

DJ

The steps you that you suggest are all about the infer-structure, they do not deal with the existing structure.  It would take a generation and political courage not to mention billions of dollars to implement those changes.

The human race cannot prevent nor can we build things that sill withstand the force of an earthquake of the magnitude that you are envisioning. Look at the current events in Nepal.

It may happen but it will not wipe out the human race as the prophecies in the Bible are accurate and they do not predict that this world will end that way, except at the second coming of Christ and not before

OHC in the northern part of the Netherlands due to gas-exploration we have had a lot of small earthquakes and damage. The "NAM" (partly state partly Shell and Exxon) now has to spend millions of euro's yearly to compensate for damage and make housing stronger. They also had to decrease gas-production. But still the exploration is profittable... The housing in Nepal was bad-Kathmandhu-vally has 1,500,000 inhabitants, but I agree that the "danger-area's"worldwide are that large that it is hard to implement the needed changes.
