My bad feeling is that when Ebola takes over our country, Obama will declare martial law and stay in office. The Ebola doesn't scare me near as much as Obama becoming the self-appointed king of our country.

Same here, FluMom - even if we hear of cases in Dallas, I see it more as a failure of the authorities there than an indictment of the virus. Judging by the increased vigilance at airports, lessons are being learned.
#5 applies, but probably not any more on Friday as it does now Wink

Feeling a little uneasy....  too many mixed messages.  I didn't vote. I'm not worried about Friday in particular, but feeling quite untrusting.
Be the positive change that you want to see. Live it, be it, push for it.

We all should be very worried about this happening. His messiah, dictator attitude is the most troubling issue facing this country worse than Ebola. If he declares martial law the internet will shut down as will the economical system of the USA which will cascade to other countries. With his low approval ratings he has nothing to lose by declaring martial law, but would be able to implement his communistic, socialistic and Sharia ideas (Laws) He does not respect this country or the constitution. This is my humble opinion which at this time I am able to express with out retribution. I HOPE, for how long I do not know

I'm assuming waterboy is watching the stock market fairly close, which is why he said that.  The floor almost dropped out yesterday before it rebounded.  The market/money is sometimes ahead of things and a good indicator.   People who follow stocks always try to be a step ahead.

No need to panic and the sky isn't falling, although those 200 airport/cabin personnel just walked off job, so it could be heading in a direction of overreacting.

I do agree with the airport workeers walking off their obviously dangerous jobs. This may spread to other airports across the nation, and will certainly inconvenience air travelers. I rarely fly, so not a problem for me.

Some people experience a feeling of dread because they have subconsciously picked up on some detail in media or environment that hasn't fully registered.

Never ridicule someone's intuition. We all experience it at some point, some moreso than others.

Kelly: Southcom Keeps Watch on Ebola Situation

WASHINGTON, Oct. 8, 2014 – The potential spread of Ebola into Central and Southern America is a real possibility, the commander of U.S. Southern Command told an audience at the National Defense University here yesterday.

“By the end of the year, there’s supposed to be 1.4 million people infected with Ebola and 62 percent of them dying, according to the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention],” Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly said. “That’s horrific. And there is no way we can keep Ebola [contained] in West Africa.”

If it comes to the Western Hemisphere, many countries have little ability to deal with an outbreak of the disease, the general said.

“So, much like West Africa, it will rage for a period of time,” Kelly said.

This is a particularly possible scenario if the disease gets to Haiti or Central America, he said. If the disease gets to countries like Guatemala, Honduras or El Salvador, it will cause a panic and people will flee the region,(and you know where they will go) the general said.

This is typical. The guy lies about having Ebola and falsifies documents...comes to the USA and is given very good medical care while he was alive -- at $10K and hour. Now his family is suing the hospital. Unbelievable!

This just shows that no good deed goes unpunished. Perhaps the Dallas medical authorities should have just quarantined him in a small cell until he died.

I didn't think she was a citizen. When reporters first asked if Duncan's 'hosts' were US citizens, officials referred to them as "residents".

Out of respect for the family I have refrained from bringing up a particular discussion point. However, in light of the impending lawsuit I no longer have respect for the GF.  So here goes:

Duncan doesn't see his fiance for X number of years, finally reuinites with a plan to marry, and DOES NOT EXCHANGE BODY FLUIDS???

Someone please explain to me how that works.

Girlfriend will have Ebola symptoms by Wednesday. So will some of the others. They wont be around to sue anyone. The greedy attorney helping them should be disbarred.
How does an attorney talk to them anyway. Aren't they in quarantine in a house somewhere in a gated community near Dallas.

If it comes 'out in the wash' that Duncan and the GF knew he was infected before getting on the plane, is that grounds to make the case a matter of national security?
People have been accused of 'T' activities for a lot less.

I think they just pulled a Nigerian scam and J, the reverend, J is in on it. Germ Nerdier is absolutely correctomondo. Graduation or not. You don't host an ex like that without singin a Hail Mary to Jesus. If she's not infected she knew all along and it was a suicide scam to make a fortune for his son. And I still think something deceptive happened at that hospital to make it only look like they knew he was a high risk group. Perhaps one of the initial nurses is in on it. Now there's a con' theory for you.

Oh I like your thinking. A suicide scam, it would never have occurred to me. What amazes me about America is that you can sue anyone about anything.

How can you possibly sue a hospital for isolation care when a team of 30 people worked round the clock to care for him, and when a 25 bed unit was given over to his sole use? Unbelievable.

This level of care is what will undo the good efforts of staff when more cases are around. You can't possible allocate 30 people and a whole unit to each and every Ebola patient. So when there are 10, or 50, or 150 patients, resources will be spread much more thinly and the success rate will drop as a result.
Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

She of course can sue, as everybody sues everybody these days for virtually anything.  The problem she's going to have is that Duncan was not a U.S. citizen and was Liberian.   She is suing for his rights, but he doesn't have many and he got pretty good care if you ask me.  I still haven't heard if the girlfriend is a U.S. citizen.  If she's not, then she might have legal problems from all this.

Return flights are safe enough :)

In Liberia I'll just hang out with all the PPE waiting for clearance, and have zero risk of ever being near Ebola.

We do still have the AFT timeshare for the winner.  We lucked out that when we got it that it wasn't located in Liberia.  Got lucky.  It's on the SE shore over looking the ocean in Sierra Leone, water front.  You could actually grab a bus to Liberia and see where Duncan was born and raised, etc....  He's like a hero there now.

Looks like we have around 12 winners for this great package.
