So I belong to another forum related to type 1 diabetes. On the 29th somebody started a thread called "stockpile". It simply asked how many people kept a stockpile of diabetes supplies. On the first response somebody said that they are not preparing for a zombie apocalypse just a minor disruption in coverage. Thereafter a number of people starting responding by saying how well prepped they are (regarding diabetes supplies only). There have been no negative responses, and more people than I would have guessed have said they are stockpiling in the event of a disruption, like zombies.

I am encouraged that the level of stockpiling out there in the world just might be better than I would have feared. I am encouraged that the gov zombie metaphor has been received well and seems to be having the desired effect.
