I am so sad to hear he has passed away! I love Prince, he has been there my whole life......they say he had been battling the flu for weeks and was released from the hospital and found dead in his home. |

Yep, I mentioned that in the other flu post. It's awful. I was wondering if he had a vaccine or not? Can't remember if his religion was anti-vax or not. I also wonder why the hospital released him so quick after he had to do a plane emergency landing for the flu complications. Still terribly sad all around, and he was so young. :(

I posted it, the saw you posted before I did, lol. I know he and I are the same age, so I have watched his career my whole life. He may not have wanted to stay in the hospital, you never know? Celebrities can be kind of odd like that? I wonder about the vaccine too?

lol We did a bit of posting "telephone". If I remember correctly, he was Jehovah's Witness, and I am not too sure how they do medical intervention. I think they don't accept blood transfusions, but that's all I have heard from that end. This flu might be stronger than most anticipated too.

Ahhh, my boyfriend was raised Jehovah's Witness, you are correct they do not accept blood transfusions. Even though my boyfriend is non-practicing today, he would still not accept a blood transfusion, he did take the flu vaccine and does do all other medical stuff though.

One of the articles I read said that Prince has been in the hospital and had been released a couple of days ago after being treated for the flu, he had for several weeks. So he had sought medical care. He had still been touring and doing concerts during this time.

The spin now is that he was addicted to opiates and had been making runs to the pharmacy on a regular basis and overdosed on them. Only the autopsy will reveal what really killed him.

It would seem a lot is being done to downplay his death as the flu. Cannot believe the amount of spin already in statements of how this flu season is milder and yet, he was not that old.
The problem with coverup, i.e. not putting the real news out there is if the celebrities die, is that it will hit the media no matter what. Prince could have been miserable and trying to ignore the Flu and taking pain killers or something. There have been a large number of celebrity deaths over the last year. Although some were heavy smokers, drug users, and drinkers, I doubt Prince was any of these. He was religious and one of the few icons in the industry without major drug problems. .gov is going to try very hard to link this to an overdose. And while they may establish something in his system it is unlikely it was recreational. Flu continues to be widespread throughout the U.S. - at least many parts of it. And this flu - can be lethal. I feel like they use OD as a way to discredit well rounded people. I wonder if this flu could be on 2009 swine flu level proportions. Back then, my alma mater quarantined people in the dorms.
