I was, in fact, in Czechoslovakia in 1971. As for the wisdom part, I have no more and no less than anyone else here, including you. Sarcasm is verbal violence and not necessary for someone as educated as yourself. |

Dr Stack is not just respected here for his wisdom, which we have all seen demonstrated as he has been proved right repeatedly about things. But, also for his extensive inside knowledge of the security and political systems within the USA.
No, that is not bias. I am currently arguing with him on another thread. (Possibly at my peril.)

CRS,DrPH picked an argument with me specifically, not the other way around. He's too full of himself.
Your argument with him will be at your peril only if you allow it. He put his underwear on the same as we do every day and until he remembers that, he can be the one who takes a hike! |

I'm a professional in the activities discussed at length on AFT. Here, I'm documenting a major bioterrorism exercise at a Chicago medical district for the Army National Guard CBRN (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear) units. These are CBRN troops undergoing decontamination. What photo can you post, Old Crabby? |

We were talking about the election, but somehow you seem to believe that your PH.D. means that your opinions of Donald Trump making a bad president outweigh the opinions of others. I hate it when people, such as yourself, use your credentials to justify your opinions over the opinions of others. You have no evidence that Donald Trump will make a good or bad president at this point and neither do I.
So why do you feel more qualified than the rest of us with regards to this past election simply because you worked on bioterrorism, traveled to communist countries, or worked for a major bioterrorism exercise? Just because you are an expert in one aspect of something does not make you credible with all of your opinions which is exactly why I believe that you are overly full of yourself. No doubt you can provide some value to this forum, but YOU are not the authority on all discussions. How dare you tell me to "take a hike" simply because I have a different opinion than yours! Since you are a bioterrorism expert, imagine if Hillary were elected and she continued to maintain an open southern border and import thousands of Muslims into this country, one of which could bring in their bioterrorism weapon. Now imagine a Donald Trump who wants to bring some sanity to our southern border and shut off Muslim immigration until he knows what's going on and how they can be vetted. Muslims are coming into Europe from all over the middle east and Africa, not just Syria. Why is that? Have you not paid attention to the terrorism that has already taken place in Europe and the United States recently? Orlando shooting killed 50 and injured 53. Dallas sniper attack killed 6 and injured 10. Minnesota mall stabbing killed 1 and injured 10. Manhattan street bombing injured 29. Brussels attacks killed 31 and injured 300. Last years' Paris attacks killed 130 and injured 368. 2004 Madrid train bombing killed 192 and injured 2,050! If all of that wasn't enough, we've had all those wildfires that were set on purpose out west over the past 5 years or so and now we have new fires on the Georgia and Tennessee border, many or most were set intentionally. Bin Laden once told his followers to "burn America down" and it seems that someone is trying to do exactly that. If bioterrorism concerns you so much, then why doesn't an open border and Muslim immigration do so too? Your stance against Donald Trump seems highly contradictory to me. Now imagine and open border, thousands of Muslim immigrants, and VX, ricin, aerosolized Ebola, or something else. Isn't THAT your line of work? A vote for Donald Trump was also vote for legal immigration and sanity with regards to Muslim immigration. If we're both still alive after some horrific terrorist event I will send you the photo that depicts our country dealing with all those dead people after a terrorist gets into our country either from a porous southern border or from a Muslim immigrant. |

The more impressive people are the less they feel the need to brag about their accomplishments. The more respected within a community, the less they need to call attention to any formal qualification or job title.
I don't know if this stems from their insecurity or arrogance, but it is highly irritating to even try and have a two way conversation with such people. |

Have to agree with this statement, i never take anyone at face value on the 'NET' unless i see their credentials for myself ,even then i very careful, and in my life i have know lots of people who have great exam results, and are very very clever : BUT they have difficulties tying their shoe laces, i.e they not very practical, but really guys these personal attacks are a bit childish, so can we draw a line and agree to disagree and MOVE ON unless we we having a go at the politicians, then its , open season, lmao |

I get top-secret briefings on terrorism and cannot identify myself. BTW, it is DrPH, and not PhD. If you voted for this dirtbag Trump, Old Crabby, you own him. Eliot A. Cohen, a former State Department official, said on Twitterthat after having spoken to Mr. Trump’s team, he had “changed my recommendation: stay away. They’re angry, arrogant, screaming ‘you LOST!’ Will be ugly.”

Peaceful protest is one thing. Plots to assassinate an elected president are treason. This is not okay. The bottom line here is that the value of opinions is not based on 1) working with U.S. intelligence (I did and it is irrelavent). 2) Presidents are elected by the American people a very large number of them have no degrees or are PHDs. Very few of those who have been very successful, i.e. Bill Gates had formal college degrees. 3) The ends do not justify the means if it is a plot to kill a president or one about to become one.
This is not okay. These people are not patriots and they do not care about America. What basically happened with the middle and lower class is the Midwest outvoted the coastal areas. Hillary Clinton did not win the popular vote. This is a myth. Twitter - https://twitter.com/JumpVote/status/797843232436748288?ref_src=twsrc^tfw We have verified more than three million votes cast by non-citizens. We are joining . http://girlsjustwannahaveguns.com/report-millions-illegal-aliens-voted-2016-election/ Although some states require some form of ID before voting, California, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Washington, D.C. all require no identification before voting. comment: So is it any wonder Hillary was courting illegal immigrants? It had nothing to do with a love for African, Asian, or Latin Americans. It was a power grab to win the election. The two-faced politics which are documented in tapes and recordings talking behind the curtains show a belief there are two agendas - as per other presidents - one on camera - one off. The number of lies and total falsehoods are legion. Over 3,000,000 votes were illegal immigrants and should not have been counted and were. If those votes were correctly discounted, Trump won by a mandate of the people. You are not going to see this on mainstream media. Just like as you ask many protestors about major issues in Syria, jobs, our economy, and how Hillary was going to devastate the rust belt with her policies, it is unlikely many even care. Trump is the only one that can effectively deal with China. They hate Hillary because in her last disaster of protesting human rights she made an enemy. He is the only one who can effectively remove Obamacare which is a disaster. A large number of major insurers will not accept it and all premiums will soar. These protests are being organized by minority organizations. The one in LA was and Mexico is terrified they are going to back out of NAFTA and we will actually get some of our jobs and companies back and have tariffs on the huge cheap goods coming from Mexico which are destroying businesses and jobs here. America is a business and we need a successful negotiator and someone who can deal with other countries. We need to build a stronger military and not become a nation which is more interested in supporting people who are not citizens than protecting and helping our own. We have had eight years of hell with no significant change or improvement of America. It was time for a change and we got it. The election was fair (despite fixing of votes, allowing illegals to vote, and a complete volly of survey and samples (polls) which were wrong). None of the celebrites who said they were going to Canada or leave did. As for Trump the Chump - this could be replaced with Hilary the Criminal. She committed crimes - set up pay for play through the Clinton Foundation. There will still be under investigation. A lot of people are happy about Trump- at least 50% of those who voted. They are not horrified or unable to accept the reality. Some are so upset they are willing to try and kill Trump. They advocate violence, killing policeman, and even hate whites and are more racists than the ones they complain about. In a society dominated by them they would hunt those who disagreed with them and kill them. This demonstrates the reality behind the special interest groups and they want to do this. Some plots have already been uncovered and people arrested. In addition to the one who wrote this, how many are out there are committed to Anarchy and will try? Medclinician |

For those who don't know the status of the derivatives problem in the U.S. here it is as of March 31, 2016.
RANK Bank Total Assets Total Derivatives 1 JPMorgan Chase $2,015,718 $52,911,434 2 Citibank $1,342,643 $52,052,635 3 Goldman Sachs $143,403 $44,434,385 4 Bank of America $1,653,947 $26,262,286 5 Wells Fargo $1,667,785 $5,995,075 Savings accounts are considered "unsecured creditors". Everyone should read and understand this. https://www.fdic.gov/about/srac/2012/gsifi.pdf These resolution strategies should maintain systemically important operations and contain threats to financial stability. They should also assign losses to shareholders and unsecured creditors in the group, thereby avoiding the need for a bailout by taxpayers. The taxpayer won't bail out the banks, but the depositors will because they are "unsecured creditors". I can't help but question what would happen if just one of these banks failed tomorrow. It would seem that there would be a run on all banks of epic proportions. If you have any money in any of these banks, get it out now. Page down about 3/4s of the way and see the whole list. https://www.occ.gov/topics/capital-markets/financial-markets/derivatives/dq116.pdf At the Cannes Summit in November 2011, the G20 Leaders endorsed the Key Attributes of Effective Resolution Regimes for Financial Institutions as the international standard for resolution regimes, following a public consultation process. The Key Attributes call on jurisdictions, among other things, to put in place an on-going recovery and resolution planning process to reduce the potential for failure and promote resolvability as part of the overall supervisory process. Such a planning process is required for all global systemically important financial institutions (G-SIFIs) and for any other firm assessed by national authorities as potentially having an impact on financial stability in the event of its failure. Reforms are now underway in many jurisdictions to align national resolution regimes and institutional frameworks more closely with the Key Attributes. THIS ISN'T CLOSE TO BEING RESOLVED! |

as we speak Trump and Paul Ryan are working on legislation to get rid of Medicare as we have always known it it will be turned into a voucher program you get a fixed sum and then you deal with the insurance company on your own odds are virtually !00% that the voucher will not cover the entire premium and if you think deductibles and copays are outrageous now you ain't seen nothin' yet SORRY GRANDMA |

Yeah, that is an old Republican plan...Speaker Paul Ryan has long been a major proponent. Get ready for the dismantling of the government....EPA, DOE (alternative energy parts), NSF, HHS etc. will be gutted for cash to pay for the military expansion that Trump wants, finance his HUGE tax cuts for the rich etc. Funding for pandemic preparedness, vaccines etc. will be pillaged. It's happened before. I've voted Republican for most of my life, but this is unreal.

I could see this coming long ago. Our government is broke. The unfunded liabilities are $104 trillion which is comprised mainly of social security and Medicare/Medicaid or 60% of the current national budget and growing every day. The military is 16% of the national budget.
Go here and click on "Total Spending". https://www.nationalpriorities.org/ Our government will not stop cutting there because the next thing coming might be a cut to social security. I've already heard talk of social security reductions of as much as 40% and IRA confiscations. The government underestimates their inflation figures so that they can give only a 0.3% raise in social security for next year because they know we can't afford it. Our government needs to admit this to the public, but won't. I'm hoping that Donald Trump does. Our government is going to have to cut back on everything. Donald Trump would like to expand the military in order to stimulate that part of the economy, but he won't be able to. According to Harry Dent the baby boomers are all past their peak spending years so they won't buy much even if they could. Fixing our infrastructure would at least provide jobs to the many who need them. The fact that most people approaching retirement age either don't have any money saved or have very little will make things horrible for them. Suze Orman says that people will "pay now" or "pay later". Unfortunately the "pay later" category is where most people lie and health care will become a luxury that most will not be able to afford. If anyone thinks that Hillary could resolve this problem better than someone else, they're sorely mistaken. Even if they taxed the rich at 100% it wouldn't cover the government expenses for a single day. There is only one way out and that is to reduce the entitlements that we paid into our entire lives. Neither Donald or Hillary would be able to solve this problem. It is a train wreck that many in government should have seen coming a long time ago. All our politicians are interested in is making enough promises to get them elected and then re-elected. They're all pond scum. I'll have to agree with DrPH on one thing and that is that Donald Trump will start dismantling the government due to the unaffordability of it. Everyone on this forum needs to save as if your life depends on it. Even if you can afford things now you might not be able to later on and your kids and grandkids will not be able to. Our country's economic situation is extremely serious. |

I agree with you Crabby but, on a personal note, I don't trust the banks at all. Here in NZ, the government insisted that all banks install computer software that allows for an automatic confiscation of customers assets should the bank need bailing out. This "bail in" software is up and running in all banks in NZ and also the UK and I think the USA. It's so that money can be confiscated from peoples accounts if the banks need it. You'd have no say in it, and there's nothing you can do about it. Look at what happened in Cyprus. Those poor people are still under strict financial restrictions. Just as Roosevelt confiscated gold from all Americans in the 1930's, today it could be done with the touch of a button.

By the way, not one of my friends knows about this software. It was in the papers but only in the small print of the financial sections. They are also unaware that our money no longer has the government backed guarantee on it that it had up until about 3 years ago. It's not possible to place money in any financial institution in NZ, and have it guaranteed.

If you had more than 100,000 Euros in Cypress banks, they confiscated a portion of that excess. So, the key is to spread your money around. In the U.S. the FDIC guarantees $250,000 worth of savings, but I'm thinking that it would be safer to keep your savings in any bank below $100,000. The banks are definitely NOT a safe place to keep your money and neither are brokerage accounts. For those of us who live in the U.S. you can research your bank's balance sheet at the FDIC website. I look specifically at their cash to loan ratio and derivatives. I figure that the more cash a bank keeps on hand, the more of it I might be able to get back. Here's the problem of the bail-in. If just one large bank in the U.S. goes under and people lose their savings, it will cause a run on all U.S. banks. Then they will severely limit how much people can withdraw in a day. |
