For me, Fox, CNN, and Washington post have completely lost credibility and now stand besides National Enquirer and Jerry Springer as the Kings and Queens of Drama.

Most of the top stories are much ado about nothing and the latest Donald Trump scandal is not that big a deal.

The head of the FBI committed treason by releasing secret documents to the press. What Russia was going to give Trump, if they were, was evidence on Hillary Clinton and she should have been prosecuted and put in jail.

There is an old story about the frog and the scorpion giving him a ride across the river and promising not to sting him and the scorpion does. The frog says "why did you sting me - now we both will drown and die". The scorpion says "you knew I was a scorpion and I couldn't help it".

Revelation. Russia's Putin can be a Scorpion and they will never stop trying to influence our government, elections, or spying on us. What are we going to do, slap Putin's hand and say you have been a bad boy? This has been going on since World War II and we are just as guilty of meddling with foreign governments. We supported rebels, backed terrorists in Syria, and toppled governments and maybe even had few leaders assassinated. I am amazed they haven't taken out Kim Jong-Un yet.

Grow up people. Get a life. People do bad things and to be approached by Russia with information on Clinton is not treason especially with the Wiki Leaks that she blew it and little is being done to investigate her anymore.

The media is like a girlfriend or boyfriend that is constantly trying to prove you are unfaithful when you aren't. President Trump did not collude with Russia, there is no evidence of it and never will be. Move on social justice warriors.

The bottom line on such left extremists is "don't confuse me with the facts". Basically everyday they accuse someone and then the evidence is "some source" who is often their creative writing staff.

It is time for the Real News. I have been working on this for 3 years now and we need an Independent News carrier more than ever.

AFT was the real news about the Pandemic and other misreporting from CDC for years. We blew the whistle on the Pandemic when it hit New York and a million people had it and they reported 20,000.

Now the Media have become story tellers and keep getting caught making up total fiction. I am not interested in what teacher slept with her student or what giant snake got away or which creep stalked who and killed them.

The news is talking about things which effect our lives in real life. The economy, science and discovery, new medicine, jobs, and immigration which is killing us off and doing something about it.

Trump has managed to do some massive good things - even get a cease fire in Syria - negotiate with Putin, China, and get his foot in doors no one else has in years. He is helping to create jobs, making better trade deals, and coming through on his promises. The media ignores every good thing he does and won't even report it.

I used to like Fox. They were always out there but they were brave and reported on health and outbreaks when other people wouldn't.

So, every day a new scandal and the Haters which hunt cops in the name of racial equality while stirring up people against whites. And then the media which reports it.

No, Fox and CNN won't change. They have crossed the line into factual Wonderland and are falling down the hole and will never get out of fantasy and makeup stories.

But someone can, and I hope someday we can continue and build a new media which will bring you - The Real News.

Donald Trump's biggest weakness is the power he has given his family

OPINION

Updated 48 minutes ago

The White House under this president is run more like a family business than a proper government.

His children are unpaid senior advisors with massive power.

Dealings with other governments are tinged with commercial ties with the Trump organisation — from patents granted by the Chinese to discussions of real estate deals in other countries to Ivanka's shoe manufacturing operations.

Donald Trump Jr may well be a "high quality" individual; he certainly is in his father's eyes. But both men, and more in the Trump family, are in a heap of trouble with the investigations into any ties between the Trump presidential campaign and the Russian Government and its agents.

This drama, with its echoes of Watergate, will go on for some time — at least until the special counsel, Robert Mueller, renders his verdict on what transpired in the 2016 presidential election; the Russian interference and any collusion by the Trump organisation and the Russians.

We will know that the Mueller process is nearing pay dirt if he interviews the principals under oath. And we will know that his process is nearing a conclusion if the President is interviewed under oath.

Trump family front and centre on world stage

Trump's family adds a special dimension to his presidency that adds an extra degree of difficulty to his struggle to function effectively.

Dealings at the government-to-government level are also tinged with family connections. Son-in-law Jared Kushner has an immense portfolio, from China to the Middle East to Mexico to reinventing government technology operations.

He would not have that job but for his marriage to the President's daughter.

Ivanka Trump took the President's seat at a session of the G20 meeting in Hamburg. No other relatives of other presidents have acted in this way, with its patina of monarchy.

Indeed, when John F Kennedy's brother wielded immense official authority, often ruthlessly, he was a member of the cabinet as attorney-general, duly confirmed by the Senate.

Those foreign leaders who effusively court this president — Xi of China, King Salman of Saudi Arabia, Israel's Netanyahu — are rewarded.

Those who challenge him on bread-and-butter policy — Merkel of Germany, Macron of France, Trudeau of Canada — can get the cold shoulder.

Trump revels in transactional business with some leaders, but struggles in transactional diplomacy with others.

Trump is CEO in his Oval Office

The underlying issue is two-fold: unlike all his 44 predecessors, Trump has never held political office or military rank.

He is not a creature of government — and that is one of his great appeals and popular assets.

But he is not conversant in the culture of government — and that is one of his greatest weaknesses.

Neither Trump nor his immediate family have any idea what it takes to pass major legislation, such as repealing Obamacare, or any strategic sense of how to do it.

As just one example, former president Barack Obama in 2009 strongly supported the landmark health reform legislation as it emerged in the House after months of hearings and amendments in committee; when it ran into trouble in town hall meetings across the country (not unlike what Republicans are experiencing today) he convened a joint session of Congress as part of a larger campaign to win approval of the bill.

Compare that to Trump tweeting his posture and preferences (the House bill is "mean"; the Senate bill to emerge next week will be "beautiful"), but there are no rallies, no soaring speeches of what is in his legislation, no road map he is following on how a bill becomes a law.

I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!

Although he has interacted for years with political leaders to advance his business interests, Trump has no appreciation of the connective tissue of American democracy.

How else can he be so blasé and dismissive, if not unconcerned, about the findings of the intelligence community that Russia interfered in the US electoral process to assist the Trump campaign?

Fake news! A hoax!

His attitude and reactions to the investigation of the 2016 presidential campaign (for example, his firing of the FBI director conducting the Russia probe) betrays only a tepid fidelity, at best, to fundamental American political values.

Trump is CEO in his Oval Office. His bloodlines exercise ministerial power. And while he is enraged in being so enmeshed in a growing stain of scandal that threatens his very presidency, he appears stubbornly incapable of appreciating the office of the presidency and the norms that must be followed to safeguard its integrity if a president is to succeed.

The White House is not a business. As long as he treats it that way, he will keep making mistakes. That's why CEO Trump is in really serious trouble.

Donald Trump signs Russia sanctions into law, slams it as 'unconstitutional' in lengthy tirade

Updated 41 minutes ago

United States President Donald Trump has grudgingly signed into law fresh sanctions against Russia that Congress had overwhelmingly approved last week, criticising the legislation as having "clearly unconstitutional" elements.

Key points:

  • The sanctions are the first major foreign policy legislation since Mr Trump took office
  • Mr Trump says the sanctions bill is "flawed" and "unconstitutional"
  • The new measures allow Congress to stop attempts by Mr Trump to ease sanctions

After signing off on sanctions that seemed to run counter to his desire to improve relations with Moscow — but which also affect Iran and North Korea — Mr Trump laid out a lengthy list of concerns.

"While I favour tough measures to punish and deter aggressive and destabilising behaviour by Iran, North Korea, and Russia, this legislation is significantly flawed," Mr Trump said in a statement announcing the signing.

The Republican-controlled Congress approved the legislation by such a large margin on Thursday that it would have thwarted any effort by Mr Trump to veto the bill.

The legislation has already provoked countermeasures by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has ordered big cuts to the number of staff at the US diplomatic mission to Russia.

Congress approved the sanctions to punish the Russian Government over interference in the 2016 presidential election, the annexation of Ukraine's Crimea, and other perceived violations of international norms.

Mr Trump said he was concerned about the sanctions' effect on work with European allies, and on American business.

"My administration … expects the Congress to refrain from using this flawed bill to hinder our important work with European allies to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, and from using it to hinder our efforts to address any unintended consequences it may have for American businesses, our friends, or our allies," he said.

The President also complained about what he said were "clearly unconstitutional provisions" in the legislation relating to presidential powers to shape foreign policy.

Relations are 'going to be extremely tense'

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was quick to castigate Mr Trump for his "humiliating" concession to Congress, saying the move would have "a few consequences".

"First, it ends hopes for improving our relations with the new US administration," he said.

"Second, it is a declaration of a full-fledged economic war on Russia.

"Third, the Trump administration has shown its total weakness by handing over executive power to Congress in the most humiliating way.

"This changes the power balance in US political circles."

Mr Medvedev said relations between the two countries would become "extremely tense" and that Mr Trump had been knocked "down a peg" by Congress.

"The US establishment fully outwitted Trump; the President is not happy about the new sanctions, yet he could not but sign the bill," he said.

"The issue of new sanctions came about, primarily, as another way to knock Trump down a peg.

"New steps are to come, and they will ultimately aim to remove him from power."

New bill limits Trump's powers to ease sanctions

Trump can't catch a break

Signing the bill jeopardises Donald Trump's campaign pledge to improve relations with Moscow.

The bill erases his ability to ease sanctions without Congressional approval.

Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev says the sanctions end hope of improved relations with the Trump administration.

But if Trump did veto the bill Congress was likely to override him.

Any refusal to sign could also have been seen as an indication he was trying to curry favour with the Kremlin.

Mr Trump says the bill is "seriously flawed" and that parts of it are "clearly unconstitutional".

When it comes to Russia, the President and Congress are anything but united.

Analysis by North America correspondent Stephanie March

The new sanctions measure, the first major foreign policy legislation approved by Congress since Mr Trump took office in January, includes a provision allowing Congress to stop any effort by the President to ease existing sanctions on Russia.

Mr Trump has long said he would like improved ties with Russia. But any such efforts by his administration have been hamstrung by findings by US intelligence agencies that Russia interfered to help the Republican against Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

US congressional committees and a special counsel are investigating. Moscow denies any meddling and Mr Trump denies any collusion by his campaign.

In a second statement on the legislation, Mr Trump said that, "Despite its problems, I am signing this bill for the sake of national unity."

"It represents the will of the American people to see Russia take steps to improve relations with the United States."

But he said the law was "seriously flawed — particularly because it encroaches on the executive branch's authority to negotiate".

The legislation will affect a range of Russian industries and might further hurt the Russian economy, already weakened by 2014 sanctions imposed after Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine.

It also cracks down on Iran and North Korea for activities that include their missile development programs and human rights abuses, including seeking to punish foreign banks that do business with North Korea.

'Retaliatory measures already taken': Kremlin

After Congress approved the sanctions, the Kremlin ordered the United States to cut about 60 per cent of its diplomatic staff in Russia.

Mr Putin said on Sunday that Russia had ordered the US to cut 755 of its 1,200 embassy and consulate staff by September, and was seizing two diplomatic properties.

Responding to Mr Trump's signing of the new bill, the Kremlin responded that it had already taken retaliatory measures, citing the expulsion of US diplomatic staff from Moscow.

"What retaliatory measures?" Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"There is nothing new. Retaliatory measures were already taken."

Besides angering Moscow, the legislation has upset the European Union, which has said the new sanctions might affect its energy security and prompt it to act, too.

The legislation would give the Trump administration the option of imposing sanctions on companies helping develop Russian export pipelines, such as the Nord Stream 2 pipeline carrying natural gas to Europe, in which German companies are involved.

The clown was Hillary Clinton who was not only a criminal, told lies throughout her campaign and should be in jail.  This is not a fashion show and we don't need movie stars to lead our country or in politics.

The Stock market and the American economy are soaring like almost never before except under Bush. It has gained over 3500 points, the unemployment rate is 4.4% and even the GDP is more than it was during the entire Obama Administration.

Even William Shatner, Captain Kirk of the Enterprise, has tweeted the the Social Justice Warrior are not like the hippies of the 60s. They are fighting for special interest groups who want special grants and consideration and are totally oblivious to the rest of America.

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/08/02/william-shatner-social-justice-warriors-stand-for-inequality.html

This obsession with posting pictures of Trump who loves his family, has been a good father versus cheating on his wife in a public scandal (Bill Clinton), having an organization that took bribes from hundreds of foreign nationals in pay for play, and Hillary who should go to jail for investigations which will resume once more into criminal ones is a waste of time.

Some of the DNC staff are guilty of leaking top secret information and unmasking people which is a federal crime and they should go to jail for,  in an attempt to get Hillary elected.

Presently Trump is forcing the Republicans back into session in the middle of Summer to pass some type of health plan for the millions of Americans who have none.

One of the greatest problems we have, is a massive number of people who have nothing better to do, since they don't work or contribute to our society in any way and simply take, take, take and give nothing back. This included a massive number of immigrants who are criminals and deported as many as several dozens of times who come back to kill people, join gangs in New York and other big cities, and need to be permanently sent back.

Illegal immigration has decreased 70%. We have the strongest and most powerful foreign policy we have had since Obama literally hid and would not take any useful action to stop ISIS, get Assad out of power before he bombed children with nerve gas, and Obama abandoned our fighters in Afghanistan.

What is this with some people these days? They are more interested in fighting for bathrooms for transgenders which to me is definitely not a natural right to change your sex by operation. How did we get to this point?  8 years of Obama and an agenda that were more interested in putting a Black President in office with no consideration of how qualified or good that would be for America to push favoritism and reverse discrimination to its current high.

I am tired of reading the daily dirt spewed out by the mainstream media and parroted by people who have no real cognition of what matters in our government or the life of Americans. People are dying in the streets homeless and getting no medical care. Social Security is on the brink and has been and we need a huge economic boost or we all will suffer.

This applies to anyone trying to start a business, looking for a job, even wanting more sleep at night. I am tired of seeing people raised to their level of incompetency because of gender, race, or sexual preference. That is the absolute opposite of how it should be. There is too much emphasis on tanking all the Christians which is a mirror of what is happening in the Middle East where they are hunted. I am not interested in seeing Blasphomet - Satan being put up in a high place in Oklahoma while our crosses are being torn down across America.

https://thesatanictempledetroit.com/campaigns/national-campaigns/oklahoma-city-monument/

This is a lot more significant than pictures of Trump hugging his son.  This is the America Hillary Clinton, who might as well be a paying member of the LBGT and has lied consistently to the American people and courted immigrants to vote for her illegally.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT

The Clinton foundations was a brothel of special favors to foreign governments and for speeches payed thousands by Russia even.

Wake up and smell the coffee. I am tired of the people trying to take In God We Trust off the money and destroy all that has been built in more than 200 years.

We who are Christians have tolerated all faiths and despite rants, we do not blow ourselves up in public places and are terrorists. So far, around the world, I have yet to read or see a single story of a Christian terrorist. Perhaps there is one but so far- the last 20 years - we have been fighting to keep America from being invaded.

Trump is not going to be impeached. The whiners can whine as he improves our country, economy, military, immigration and even health care. The media can stoke the fires for the witch hunt which is now uncovering the treason of Hillary Clinton  putting information on an server which was hacked by our enemies.

American business was over-regulated so we were dying trying to compete with offshore countries who were ruining us. The "Save the Whales" bunch never saved the whales and ignored the need for a strong fishing industry and that part of the economy. The attack on the coal industry damned most of West Virginia and destroyed their jobs. They abandoned the "Rust Belt" and Detroit that is an Apocalypse Now landscape as the Japanese stole our automobile which we invented.

They said in the last days, all this stuff would happen. We would have idols on the high places, moral corruption equal or more than Sodom and plagues and destruction.

If someone doesn't turn this around, and Trump is trying, America will be speaking a foreign language and a third world country until they are finally blown up.

That is reality.  It is time for us to build up our defenses, show the world we have strength courage and the moral conviction to do what is right for our people.
Way past that time - we are long overdue for a change and I am glad it is coming.

"The head of the FBI committed treason by releasing secret documents to the press."

Five myths about treason

The Constitution defines it narrowly — and no, bungling classified material doesn’t count.

Carlton F.W. Larson is a professor of law at the University of California at Davis and is writing a book about treason and the American Revolution.

President Trump promised to do things differently, but the resignation of a national security adviser under a cloud of suspicion of treason was novel even by Trump standards. The political (and social media) landscape is now littered with accusations of treason, not just against Trump officials but against all kinds of other actors as well — Hillary Clinton , Mitch McConnell , even the state of California . Treason is an ancient concept shrouded in misconceptions. Here are a few of the most common.

Myth No. 1

Disloyalty or policies that harm the United States are treason.

Accusations of treason have recently been made on the flimsiest of grounds, from assertions that President Barack Obama committed treason by supporting the Iran nuclear deal (found in James McCormack’s book “Unexpected Treason”) to claims that, per Paste magazine, Sen. John McCain committed treason because he threatened not to confirm a Supreme Court justice hypothetically nominated by Hillary Clinton.

The framers of the Constitution took deliberate steps to ensure that treason trials would not be used as political weapons against opponents. Article 3, Section 3 defines the crime very narrowly: “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” This language is drawn from an English statute from 1351 that was also intended to limit the scope of treason. Speaking against the government, undermining political opponents, supporting harmful policies or even placing the interests of another nation ahead of those of the United States are not acts of treason under the Constitution.

Myth No. 2

Aiding Russia is treason against the United States.

Stephen Colbert’s recent segment “Michael Flynn’s White House Tenure: It’s Funny ’Cause It’s Treason” was but one of many accusations of treason hurled against Flynn and other White House associates because of their proven or alleged ties to Russia. “Consider the evidence that Trump is a traitor,” exhorted an essay in Salon. It is, in fact, treasonable to aid the “enemies” of the United States.

But enemies are defined very precisely under American treason law. An enemy is a nation or an organization with which the United States is in a declared or open war . Nations with whom we are formally at peace, such as Russia, are not enemies. (Indeed, a treason prosecution naming Russia as an enemy would be tantamount to a declaration of war.) Russia is a strategic adversary whose interests are frequently at odds with those of the United States, but for purposes of treason law it is no different than Canada or France or even the American Red Cross. The details of the alleged connections between Russia and Trump officials are therefore irrelevant to treason law.

This was true even in the 1950s, at the height of the Cold War. When Julius and Ethel Rosenberg handed over nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union, they were tried and executed for espionage, not treason. Indeed, Trump could give the U.S. nuclear codes to Vladimir Putin or bug the Oval Office with a direct line to the Kremlin and it would not be treason, as a legal matter. Of course, such conduct would violate various laws and would constitute grounds for impeachment as a “high crime and misdemeanor” — the framers fully understood that there could be cases of reprehensible disloyalty that might escape the narrow confines of the treason clause.

So who are the current enemies of the United States? North Korea is a possible enemy, since the Korean War was never formally concluded. Certain nonstate actors can also count as enemies, and terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda and the Islamic State probably fit the definition.

Myth No. 3

Leaking classified material or handling it sloppily is treason.

Shortly before Election Day in November, the Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Mike McCaul, claimed that Clinton had committed treason by mishandling classified email. Edward Snowden has been denounced as a traitor for leaking classified documents, as have the intelligence officials who may have leaked damaging material about Flynn. The Conservative Daily Post pointed to “traitor moles nestled within the new admin.”
But none of these actions amounts to levying war against the United States, as that offense requires some use of force in an attempt to overthrow the government. No such force or intent is present in any of these scenarios. Nor do the actions constitute aiding the enemy. Leaking information to newspapers is not providing aid to “enemies.” This newspaper and others, whatever Trump might think of them, are not enemies of the United States. As with aid to Russia, such leaks might violate other provisions of federal law, but they are not treason.

Myth No. 4

Only U.S. citizens can commit treason against the U.S.

Even well-trained constitutional lawyers have sometimes repeated this myth. In his otherwise excellent book “Constitutional Faith,” for instance, Sanford Levinson writes that treason “can be committed only by a citizen.”

But the offense of treason can be committed by any person who owes allegiance to the United States, and this can include noncitizens. Treason law recognizes two kinds of allegiance: permanent and temporary. U.S. citizens owe permanent allegiance to the United States, and this duty carries with them wherever they go in the world. By contrast, noncitizens in the United States (other than ambassadors and their staffs) owe a duty of temporary allegiance, the Supreme Court found in an 1872 case. While they are within the United States and receiving protection from it, noncitizens are governed by American treason law. If a person on a green card or a student or tourist visa, for example, wages war against the United States or provides aid and comfort to our enemies, he cannot escape a treason prosecution simply by asserting his foreign citizenship.

Under this law, there is a strong argument that the 9/11 hijackers committed treason by levying war against the United States. When a noncitizen leaves the country, however, the duty of temporary allegiance disappears.

Myth No. 5

Very few Americans have committed treason.

No person has been executed for treason by the federal government under the Constitution. The small handful of people who have been convicted of the offense at the federal level — such as two militants from the Whiskey Rebellion and several people after World War II — have mostly been pardoned or released. So we are sometimes told that treason has been “rare” in the United States.

Hardly. During the American Revolution, the rebelling Americans were all committing treason against Britain. Similarly, the thousands of Americans who actively aided the British committed treason against the United States. In the Civil War, the hundreds of thousands of men who fought for the Confederacy all levied war against the United States, as did the people who aided and abetted the rebellion.

Neither the American Revolution nor the Civil War led to mass executions. At the end of the day, the spirit of reconciliation prevailed, and the victors allowed the vanquished to return home peacefully. But it remains the case that many Americans have a traitor lurking somewhere in their family tree.

wow MED
your post is so full of factual errors it would take me the rest of the day to address them all
I'm impressedLOL

let me look at just one of the most glaring and obvious

unemployment rate at 4.4% ???

during the entire campaign,Trump CONSTANTLY attacked the official figures,(which YOU are now using)
and called them FAKE NEWS
he consistently claimed that "true" unemployment was well over 20%
and during the end of the campaign,at one of his rallies he actually said ,and I quote
"I've heard the unemployment rate is actually 39% "

so let me get this straight
according to Trump, true unemployment was at least 20%
so he takes Office and the number MAGICALLY drops to 4.4% ???
so before the official numbers were FAKE NEWS
but now they're not ??? LOLLOLLOL

and let me make a brief comment on Trump's personal life
he is on trophy wife #3
he CHEATED on his first two wives,he committed ADULTERY,this is a WELL KNOWN FACT
and he has a DECADES long history of being a womanizer
and your holding him up as a moral example ??? Confused

Bill Clinton DID cheat on Hillary and more than once
but guess who held her marriage together ?

"Donald Trump to go for a presidential golfing days record with 17-day vacation"

Protecting the President: Secret Weapons and a Hefty Price Tag

To the average American, presidential protection conjures up the image of a stone-faced Secret Service agent hovering near the commander-in-chief's podium or running alongside his limo.

But the effort to keep any president safe once he's in office goes far beyond that, with heavy military involvement, a fleet of aircraft, unseen weapons, drones — and a very hefty price-tag.

NBC News has reviewed planning and budget documents — many of them top secret — that lay out the crown jewels of presidential protection. The operation, especially in the post-9/11 era, is the most sophisticated protection and communications system in the world.

With President Trump planning to spend significant time in New York and Florida, the logistics of keeping him safe and able to govern will get more challenging and the costs will only go higher, experts tell NBC News.

"Every time the president leaves the White House, we have to move the White House with him," said Jonathan Wackrow, a former Secret Service agent who has protected every living president.

"It's logistics on top of logistics. It's thinking about every problem in advance and coming up with every type of contingency plan that you can think of."

Confidential budget and planning documents reviewed by NBC News detail the precautions taken to ensure the president survives any kind of threat — from contaminated water to incoming missiles.
When he moves, a minimum of seven airplanes may be involved:
•Air Force One, with the code name Comet, goes, along with two backups.
•The presidential limo, nicknamed The Beast, and two backups — all sealed to withstand chemical or biological weapons — are loaded onto giant C-17 cargo planes.
•And 22 armored SUVs and vans are airlifted to transport Secret Service and White House staff.

Five helicopters — including Marine One for the president — also are packed up, along with other presidential trappings like the White House podium.

A team of Delta commandos and FBI hostage rescue agents are also deployed with the president. A military aide with the nuclear football travels, too.

Whenever the President is outside Washington, three secret military bunkers, two airborne command posts and a top-secret mobile truck-mounted command center go on alert.

Surveillance drones and armed aircraft will be added to the mix when he is in New York, a senior intelligence official said.

"Since 9/11 we've seen such a substantial change in the number of threats and the sophistication of those threats that DOD has increased its participation," said Gen. General Victor "Gene" Renuart, the former head of Northern Command.

"Certainly we can lend some of the very sophisticated technical tools that we have and we've developed out of combat,"
It doesn't come cheap. The current price tag is $5 billion a year. If Trump decides to spend weekends at Trump Tower, it will cost even more to build and maintain a security structure.

"We're not in a suburb of Chicago. We are in the middle of Manhattan. We're in the epicenter of the city," Wackrow said.

All of the Secret Service agents and security personnel will have to have hotel rooms and that doesn't count the White House Communications Agency or the press corps! They will also rent a ballroom for the entire stay that's set up and ready as a press briefing room and for Presidential announcements in case there's some kind of national or world emergency and that means all the networks and news outlets will have crews there.

Who pays for this and who profits from it?

Sorry to throw your own words back at you Med, but you need to move one. The election is over and Clinton can't be used as an excuse for Trump's missteps. The current Swamp 2.0 in DC is all Donny's doing. Talking about anything else is just smoke and fmirrors to make us ignore the actions of the man behind the curtain.

Med - none of these things are even on Trump's radar. He doesn't give a crap about the homeless, affordable healthcare or social security - they'll all fall victim to Mulvaney's war on what the GOP considers unnecessary entitlements. You honestly think Trump loses one minute of sleep thinking about the plight of those less well off? His whole life has been one long ass-kicking for ordinary people who got in his way. His appalling treatment of contractors (a trick he learned from his dear old dad) is legendary. He doesn't care about anyone but himself, and the treatment of his staff since he took office should provide ample evidence of that. Getting thrown under the wheels of the bus is the standard way of leaving his administration these days.

Powerful foreign policy? The State Department still has so many openings unfilled that it's struggling to carry out it's job - and that's without throwing Trump's capricious tweeting into the mix. Even Tillerson is hard pressed to keep up with the random policy of the day. In the space of a little more than six months, the rest of the world has begun to look elsewhere for leadership since Trump became King. China is on the rise, Russia doesn't care how hard it pushes us, and Germany is fast becoming the country Europe is looking to. Your assessment of the US and it's current position on the world stage couldn't be any further from the truth - abroad, we're in bad shape and certainly not looked up to anymore. Trump simply doesn't have the mental capacity or attention span to begin to understand the complexities of global politics, let alone the nuances of regions like the Middle East, Southeast Asia or Europe, and that's hurting us. Not everything can be handled like a New Jersey real estate deal. You can't litigate, threaten or bully foreign powers into compliance as Trump is used to doing.

The fishing industry, both here and abroad, will have fished the oceans practically clean in a few decades. We either regulate it now, or it'll happen by itself when it's no longer economically viable to send out fishing boats. It has nothing to do with saving the whales, and everything to do with rapidly declining fish stocks. Nice deflection, but way off the mark. Blaming environmentalists for something they've been warning us about for years makes no sense, and follows the same line of logic as the ridiculous notion that coal will come back when safety and environmental regulations are lifted. Likewise, manufacturing in the Mad Max wasteland you imagine much of the US to be came about not because Obama hated the country, or illegals/foreign workers stole our jobs. It happened because the elite - like Trump and his Wall Street friends - sought the profits that automation offered over human labor. Welcome to the 21st century, Med - you've got some catching up to do.

Did you just mention adulterous behavior and Trump in the same breath and think nobody was going to point out the irony? This would be the guy who met his second wife at the church where he married his first wife - while he was still married - and said he didn't think adultery should be a sin in a 1990 interview with The New York Post. I'm still at a loss how a three time married serial adulterer, who boasts of forcing himself on women and grabbing their genitals, won the evangelical vote.

Okay then...

Here's a thought. Next time you meet a Native American, share your fears about America speaking a foreign language and see how much common ground you have. They can probably help with the concept of Christian terrorism too - ask them about Sand Creek and Wounded Knee. And before you try to relegate that particularly nasty episode to history, remember that it's part of "all that has been built in more than 200 years". You don't get to cherry pick.

Trump complained about the rising stock market during Obama's Presidency being "a bubble". And that was with the regulations placed on Wall Street following the recession that hit during Bush's time in office. The economy was soaring back then? Tell that to the people who lost everything to the greed of the very same bankers who are once more lining their pockets, with little thought given to the consequences of an increasingly unregulated market. I guess we don't learn our lessons well enough these days.

Singling out groups like transgender individuals, and blaming them for the all the ills of the world is a low blow. I agree that there's a lot of things in the world we need to fix, but pointing the finger at vulnerable groups is the tactic of bullies and dictators. Who gets to use which bathroom is a common thread in many of your posts these days, and doesn't help your argument. You wrote much better stuff when you didn't post angry, Med.

By the way, the automobile was more than likely invented by Karl Benz - a German. Just saying.

comment: I am saying in comparison to a president who was a closet Muslim, would not take action against terrorists, and was raised by a Muslim fanatic - Trump going to church and trying to get our nation back to God is a big step. St. Paul persecuted Christians and held their cloaks while they were stoned to death. People change. Come to present time.

If you had everything you have ever said to everyone put on the news, I doubt anyone could survive that.

Bill Clinton DID cheat on Hillary and more than once
but guess who held her marriage together ?

comment: Hillary didn't hold the marriage together. She had other liaisons which would be dangerous for me to even mention. I have put up excerpts from blatant changes of policy and bold-face lies which are video taped on the issues of family, homosexuality, and the events of what was really done in creating the Mujhadeen by the United States in Afghanistan.

The swamp is packed and the pay for play arrangements were never done by Trump. He wasn't in politics. He has had 8 months to fix what was messed up for 8 years.

Some have gone back to schoolyard ridicule of the fish faced man with the fake hair. You know what?  It just doesn't matter.

I am not a Trump supporter nor do I receive any benefits or am connected with him at all. My ability is more than some in the U.S. I can read and understand English.

At 17 - 17 I was plunged into the knowledge the world could end in 40 minutes. I know about this stuff. I lived it. That is what matters. The rest of this soap opera for bored people is getting in the way of real action by congress to change things.

It is time to move on. They never will. And mainstream is permanently non-credible and makes up huge stories. Stop believing them.

That is completely untrue.

Whenever Christianity has encountered another faith, its first reaction is to try to demonise it, convert its members, lie about it and eventually go to war with it.  The Crusades, The Holy Inquisition and the treatment of the Native Americans all come immediately to mind, BUT THAT IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG.

Despite this, I have no real quarrel with Christianity.  Everyone makes mistakes and Jesus himself encouraged forgiveness:  "Go and sin no more." comes to mind.

What does make me cross, is people professing to be Christians and eschewing all Christian principles.

Start with the commandments - all TWELVE of them,  the original ten and Jesus's two additions:  To love your God with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind with all your strength and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Quoting untruths is a form of lying: believing them in spite of the evidence is lying to yourself.
Removing healthcare is tantamount to murder,
Twisting the Bible's words is equivalent to insulting God.

Jesus told his followers not to judge one another, to love one another, forgive one another.  He also told people to "Take the plank out of their own eyes first."  In other words, explained for the stupid, "Look at your own faults before judging someone else. - How does that lead to judging the LGBT community?

Christianity teaches the highest level of morality.  Yet the loftier the ideals, the further there is to fall.  THAT WAS NOT AN INVITATION TO TRY!!!
How do you tell if a politician is lying?
His lips or pen are moving.
