I can't defend your inability to spell the name of my country America correctly - like several terrorists who used to threaten it - and have no respect for some of my brothers and sisters in arms who have died to protect our freedom. I see it as an effort to divide and destroy the unity of my country in a time when we need to remain together to fight enemies outside and within it. These kind of statements are supported by domestic terrorists who kill the innocent, deny them free speech and want to establish Anarchy in America. I may not agree with you but I will die fighting for the right for you to say it. Do you really appreciate that? People continue to do that every day here - or perhaps you really don't understand the United States and why we are united. Medclinician |

I didn't vote for Trump. I am not a Republican and he is not "my man". No, I do not understand your reference to Amurkan. Please define it and tell me why you spell it that way. I don't need to defend Trump and you cannot defend the mainstream media's boldface lies. So far he has done a lot positive things, most of which have been completely ignored. There is less illegal immigration, the stocks are up, the GDP is up, Congress must address the immigration problem, they are trying to lower taxes, tackle the budget, and give our businesses a fighting chance against the world. In Puerto Rico they are doing an amazing job or their would be hundreds of thousands more people dead. All mainstream can do is whine about one tweet versus all of the ones praising leaders in Puerto Rico. He managed to push money through for the the hurricane in Texas, now working on Florida, and also Puerto Rico. They tried to repeal and replace Obamacare which is a disaster and failed. These objective facts versus the CNN Fantasyland. The couldn't even publish the truth about Las Vegas. You are a Trump Hater. You wear the hat, you walk the walk, you talk the talk. There are an army of Anarchists who want America to fall that stand behind you. I am simply a data miner trying to pull together facts to base my conclusions on. It is unlikely you will ever stop. No matter what Trump does to help our country, even protect us from a nuclear strike from North Korea as our Commander in Chief - the ranting, whining, and misinformation will not stop. It's okay. When I am wrong, I will say I'm wrong. So far- what I have posted above is accurate. Medclinician |

your the biggest water carrier for Trump since Sean Hannity I'll start praising Trump WHEN he stops lying and actually does something positive and please quit saying stupid stuff like just because someone doesnt like Trump they are anarchists ??? and want America to fail ??? two thirds of voters don't like Trump a little factoid you seem to constantly ignore and you continue to give Trump credit for things which are clearly residual effects of the Obama administration do I really need to list them ??? and for crying out loud "No, I do not understand your reference to Amurkan. Please define it and tell me why you spell it that way." this has already been explained to you at least once before I'm not going to go back over the a,b,c's again and just how has Trump's handling of North Korea been any different than that of Clinton.Bush or Obama? sure the talk is tougher but thats all NK CONTINUES to test long range missiles FACT they CONTINUE to test nuclear devices FACT and all Trump has to say is "all options are on the table" FACT and please this statement is so factually inaccurate I won't even address it "In Puerto Rico they are doing an amazing job or their would be hundreds of thousands more people dead. All mainstream can do is whine about one tweet versus all of the ones praising leaders in Puerto Rico." but at any rate Trump will give the Puerto Ricans that GOLF TROPHY today I'm sure that will make everything all better if that is YOUR idea of effective leadership then you have indeed set the bar LOW |

I have to protest against this statement, Med: " No matter what Trump does to help our country, even protect us from a nuclear strike from North Korea as our Commander in Chief - the ranting, whining, and misinformation will not stop."
You yourself have posted much about your fears of approaching nuclear war. I can only assume you disbelieve your own words. Personally I think that Trump is making things worse. His only idea of diplomacy is to shout: "Oi, Rocket Man, my missiles are bigger than yours!" Many of his security forces have expressed similar opinions to mine. That is no way to speak to a dictator with nukes! There is an old saying: "What do you call a gorilla with a gun?" to which the reply is: "Sir!" Trump is correct in much of what he says about the insane North-Korean-space-cockroach, but you can't say that out loud! This is not a pi$$ing contest! It is a profoundly delicate diplomatic nightmare. Trump's schoolboy-in-the-playground tactics could get EVERYONE killed. Again your comment was: "He managed to push money through for the the hurricane in Texas, now working on Florida, and also Puerto Rico" It is true that a small amount of aid has been sent to Puerto Rico, A VERY SMALL AMOUNT, TO DEAL WITH A DISASTER OF MASSIVE PROPORTIONS. The amount of aid amounts to little more than an insult. Don't you read, watch or listen to any real news? Finally: "I don't need to defend Trump and you cannot defend the mainstream media's boldface lies" No you don't, that is correct. However you chose to, for no logical reason I can fathom, if as you say you did not vote for him. 'And you use the most scurrilous, inaccurate, partisan, frequently made up, lies and damn lies to do so (no statistics though to complete the cliche) gleaned from sources with known Right wing and Far-right sites. Yet you accuse the mainstream media of lying. Just because Trump uses the words "fake news" does not make it true. I do not include Fox news in that list of horrors, They are clearly right-wing and occasionally extremely so, but, being mainstream, they suffer oversight and so like their opposite number, CNN, cannot get away with lying outright. Everyone has a tendency to read only those articles which back up their own already-formed opinions, Some would never watch CNN, some would never watch Fox. I admit to preferring CNN. But, I watch Fox, as they help give a more balanced view. Unless you do the same and override your distaste with anything remotely left-of-centre you cannot develop a viewpoint based on the facts, anymore than I could if I did not view the publications of the other side. Allow that bias to build and you will gravitate closer and closer to a fascist viewpoint, just as, if I gave my tastes free reign I would end up a communist. Both extremes are insane, stupid and morally repugnant. I have said it before but I do not think you were listening. If you only look at one side, you only see one side. You may not like the alternate view, but to view only its opposite renders you unenlightened and makes you appear stupid, racist and deluded. I am pretty sure you are none of those, so please try removing the blinkers, they only suit horses, and skittish ones at that.

now I'm confused
Trump said one thing while campaigning and now his hand picked budget guy is saying another ??? Trump Budget Director: “We Need to Have New Deficits”https://www.redstate.com/patterico/2017/10/03/trump-budget-director-need-new-deficits/ Our national debt recently hit $20 trillion. Of course the Trump administration doesn’t care about that. Remember, Trump hilariously promised a pack of gullible rubes that he would eliminate the debt (not the deficit, but the debt!!) without touching entitlements — which is laughably impossible. Now his budget director is praising deficits as necessary for economic growth. |

I am a minister of my faith, my husband is a vet. Don't try Trump's pi$$ing contest Tactics on me. I have taken homeless people home and housed them myself, repeatedly - charged no rent, fed them for nothing and given them the space to get their act together long enough to get a foothold in life. All who have left are now housed and able to feed themselves.
If you have had so many black friends, why do you automatically quote the far-right drivel that accuses them of everything from racist attacks against white people, to insulting the country when they protest injustice perpetrated in its name? Did you read Satori's post "Have you no decency?" Did you realize that the original author was an astronaut a proud patriotic American one? I believe you when you say you are not a racist. But many of your posts are racially insensitive and some come over as outright racist. i don't think you mean to give that impression, but that is what comes across. "This is becoming an exercise in connect the dots. Country Western - the South - Antifa - ISIS - was this a racially motivated crime against White People?" for instance. Trump's speech was beautiful, apt apposite and warm. It solves nothing, but I was impressed by it Yes KJU is a playground bully. 'And Trump does have a history of deals which work. But KJU is not a businessman, he is a dictator. He does not rely on business law to police his deals, he relies on China, who have said they will not let America make the first strike without retaliation. Trump is brilliant at tactics which are inappropriate in this situation and does not seem able to adapt. The more Trump bluffs and blusters the faster KJU builds up his arsenal and Trump can't start things off on a war footing without bringing China in. So, all this bravado does is speed up KJU's arsenal building. STUPID AND DANGEROUS! China are not going to sort NK out. Period! Saying it needs to happen will not change that, no matter how many times you say it. There are other options, but very delicate ones, Trump's attitude may close those diplomatic doors forever. Trump has achieved a few minor successes, granted. However he is failing miserably in all the major ones. He started his term with ALL THREE HOUSES holding a Republican majority. Had the majority of Republicans agreed with him on anything, his bills would have sailed through. The fact that they have not suggests that the politically savvy think him either stupid, uninformed or deluded (or all three). This is also illustrated/confirmed by the rash of resignations and sackings in the White house and Trump's war with the media. His trumpets seem to love him, as do a few hard-line far-right groups and individuals, the rest either see him as a manipulative bully, an orange buffoon or their biggest mistake yet.

I appreciate that the political posts have been a point of contention for many, but the mods can no more take this down than the pro-Trump ones. I hate to sound like I'm passing the buck, but that's Albert's call simply because he pays the rent and makes the rules here. After it was recently raised as an issue, there was a consensus about creating a political section. But as I mentioned at the time, they will still appear in the latest posts. It doesn't necessarily fix anything. |

I appreciate all of the fine folks on AFT. We have much in common, and like all families, we can agree to disagree.
Trump doesn't impress me one bit, primarily because of his sleazy attempts to cozy up to Russia during the election. All of that will eventually bring him, and his family, down eventually. Medclinician, I appreciate your sensibilities and dedication what we are trying to do here. I won't trash Trump anymore, he does a pretty good job of doing that by himself. We are Americans (and Brits and Scots and Aussies and Kiwis etc.) and hang together. Be safe, everyone! p.s. sorry if I forgot anyone!

Because they would rather pay a fortune to line the pockets of the fat-cats in the health insurance business, for a system that partially fails, than pay massively less into an effective system that might help a freeloader as well as the truly genuinely needy.

Tony Schwartz: "The Same Climate Of Fear And Paranoia Appears To Have Taken Root In His White House"

He needs to keep filling it up. The ability to see other people is almost nonexistent.” “A person was either serving his interests or was an enemy. There was never anything in between and often that same person who was an ally could become an enemy in a moment. He will say wonderful things about a person whom he then excoriates in the next moment. ha ha ha how many times have we seen this? one minute Trump is saying "he is a fine man" and then its "oh by the way YOUR FIRED" “He is not fit to lead and that’s what I want to be clear and what I don’t want to allow to be normalized.” NOT FIT TO LEAD |

White House: Senate should stop taking vacationshttps://www.yahoo.com/news/white-house-senate-stop-taking-vacations-194413224.html wow just listen to the words of PAID PROFESSIONAL LIAR Sarah Huckabee Sanders “He’s calling on Congress to get their job done. They’re on another vacation right now,” Trump’s press secretary, Sarah Sanders, told reporters at her daily briefing. “I think that we would all be a lot better off if the Senate would stop taking vacations and start staying here until we get actually get some real things accomplished. The president’s here and committed to working with them to do that.” The Senate is out of session this week. But Trump is no slouch in the vacation department: A Washington Post analysis in August found that he has taken roughly triple the amount of the leisure time Barack Obama had taken by the same point in his presidency. and President Moron with almost 80 days spent playing golf ??? want an example of someone suffering from DELUSIONAL behavior ? I couldn't have said it better
MAGGOT It was English philosopher John Locke who inspired Thomas Jefferson’s use of the words “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” in the Declaration of Independence. The most coveted aspects of liberty entail not only freedom of thought, but also the right to give public expression to thoughts. There is likewise a freedom of behavior―however bizarre or antithetical to public norms ―and a right to associate with others of the same ideation. These freedoms are codified in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. These so-called “unalienable rights” have allowed America to flourish, but they have also come at a very high cost. Without interference from government, citizens can be racist, misogynist, communist, or neo-fascist, and are allowed to admire and support hate-mongers, so long as they do not advocate violent overthrow of the government. They can even join subversive associations or white supremacist hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan. Thus is exposed the decidedly evil and decaying underbelly of a free society, and now, it can be stated that no leader in the history of the United States has gorged more on the rotted flesh of democracy than Donald Trump. Look to the source of the stench emanating from the Beltway these days, and you will find a maggot thriving in its life-sustaining cycle. Unless you have been living under a rock, it is obvious that any person who has been requested to work in the Trump administration must first deliver a boot-licking pledge of loyalty…not to country, as the oath of office requires, but to Donald Trump. Trump was never a politician of any stripe. He was, and is, simply a grifter and carnival barker who migrated from reality television into the political arena. While Trump claims to be a member of the Republican Party, most of his political donations were made to democrats. It was genetic code and environmental experience that gifted Trump with his impoverished persona, and an ever-present psychotic impulse which drives his bizarre and unpredictable behavior. Trump’s racist lineage is legendary. Trump’s father, Fred Trump, who died in 1999, was arrested at a KKK rally in New York City in 1927. Donald Trump proved that he inherited his father’s racist tendencies when he publicly prosecuted a group which would come to be known as the “Central Park Five.” They were five young black and Hispanic men ranging in age from fifteen to eighteen years old who were arrested and convicted in the 1989 beating and rape of a 28-year-old jogger in New York City’s Central Park. Trump took out full-page ads in four New York newspapers demanding the death penalty for the convicted offenders. In 2002, a new investigation revealed beyond all reasonable doubt that serial rapist Matias Reyes alone had committed the crime. All five of the convicted offenders were exonerated and freed after serving between six and thirteen years in prison. The city of New York paid the wrongly convicted five a total of 40 million dollars. Out of racially motivated hatred, Trump refused to apologize for the ads, or to even admit that the teenagers had been wrongfully convicted. Instead, he doubled down, and continued to press the “alternate fact” that the five were guilty, and should have been executed. During the presidential election campaign, Trump touted himself as a successful businessman. Nothing could be further from the truth. Trump is a failed real estate investor who used a variation of the Ponzi scheme to cover his failures; he simply borrowed more money to cover his massive losses and bankruptcies, and when U.S. bankers denied him credit as a toxic risk, he went overseas to foreign money managers. Obviously, some of those bankers were connected to individuals who demand quid-pro-quo as a condition for releasing funds. The infamous and well-traveled Access Hollywood tape exposed Trump as a misogynist and predator. On the tape, Trump indicated that he might start kissing a woman he was about to meet during filming, and then said:
Following release of the Access Hollywood tape, the New York Times on October 16, 2016 published an article detailing how Trump had degraded and marginalized women over a period of four decades. Trump is a con man without a conscience. His so-called “institution of higher learning,” Trump University, was brought to court on two class action lawsuits originating in California, and was sued by New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for fraud, and running a “phony university.” In November 2016, Trump settled the cases for 25 million dollars, with an additional one million dollars in penalties to the state of New York for violating state education laws. Quoting Eric Schneiderman: “Today’s $25 million settlement agreement is a stunning reversal by Donald Trump and a major victory for the over 6000 victims of his fraudulent university.” In August 2017, white supremacists held a torch-lit rally in Charlottesville, Virginia to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue. Inspired by white nationalist Richard Spencer, the rally touched off 24 hours of racial hatred, violent clashes, and ultimately, the death of a counter-protester. Donald Trump drew praise from hate-mongers when he referred to the “blood and soil” chanters as “fine people.” However, he incurred the wrath of decent people everywhere. In late September, Trump used a campaign rally in Huntsville, Alabama to attack NFL players and Arizona Senator John McCain. Ostensibly, Trump was there to urge support for Republican senate candidate Luther Strange, but a typical Trump sideshow emerged. Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick began protesting over the shooting of unarmed blacks by police about a year ago by kneeling during the national anthem. Kaepernick has often stated that he never meant any disrespect to people who died defending the principles of freedom. Nevertheless, Trump seized the occasion to conflate the issue and fire up his core supporters with a racist taunt:
The NFL is primarily a league comprised of black athletes. Thus, in the foregoing statement there is no distinction to be made between “son of a bitch” and the n-word. John McCain is fighting for his life; he has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Nevertheless, Trump ridiculed McCain during the rally for his vote against a draconian health care proposal by senate Republicans, and on cue, Trump’s admiring supporters soundly booed McCain. MSNBC host Joe Scarborough called out these rally-goers as something less than humane. Scarborough explained that he was raised in the same Southern region, went to the same public schools, went to the same Baptist church and the same public colleges. Then he asked: “Who raised these people? Who have they become that they would boo a man who is fighting for his very life?” He closed with:
Thank you, Joe. Donald Trump is the very last person in this country who should be complaining about what some might perceive as an insult to the individuals who died while serving honorably and faithfully under the American flag. Those of us who wrote a blank check to the government by voluntarily serving in the military during the Vietnam era had to suffer the indignity of fellow citizens spitting on our uniforms as we passed through airports, while the cowardly Trump enjoyed numerous deferments orchestrated by his rich father. Furthermore, standing before a national audience, Trump invited foreigners to interfere in our last election, and following their successful intervention on his behalf, attempted to sell our government to the Russians. Only a vigilant Congress foiled his treasonous plans. Thus, as a former soldier, it is an incredibly galling experience to watch this traitor offer a hand-salute to current members of the military. Those who continue to support Trump―excluding Russians, of course―do not think right, and probably never did. These purveyors of hate and division are not in any sense true Americans. Such individuals seem more like the inbred offspring of incestuous relations: emulate the leader you adore. Indeed, during an interview with radio personality Howard Stern, Donald Trump agreed to a description of his own daughter as “a piece of ass.” This is the most powerful man on the planet; it would be difficult to imagine a more revolting specimen of humanity. Trump Is Out of Control and 'Spiraling Down Into Paranoia,' Says His 'Art of the Deal' Ghostwriterhttps://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-control-apos-spiraling-down-163729120.html "He is escalating and sending our nation into chaos. It is unlikely that he could legally follow through on the threat, but it is a step away from Free Speech

Just like Hitler in the early 30s. The historic parallels are terrifying.

Disgusting!!
Trump Attacks Puerto Rico, Threatens To Pull Emergency Responders by Adam Edelman President Donald Trump slammed Puerto Rico on Thursday, saying its power grid and infrastructure were a "disaster" before two hurricanes hit last month and he threatened to pull federal emergency management workers from the storm-ravaged island. His comments drew furious responses from Democrats who charged he is treating Americans there like "second-class citizens." Trump tweeted, "'Puerto Rico survived the Hurricanes, now a financial crisis looms largely of their own making.' says Sharyl Attkisson. A total lack of........accountability say the Governor. Electric and all infrastructure was disaster before hurricanes." (It wasn't clear why Trump referred to Attkisson, a conservative journalist who has repeatedly defended him.) "Congress to decide how much to spend.......We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!" Trump wrote in another Tweet. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-attacks-puerto-rico-threatens-pull-emergency-responders-n810036 |

Whereas I do not believe him to be anywhere near as dirty (oe dishonest, racist, uncaring, despicable, etc., etc., etc.,) Pence does seem to be in his pocket to some extent.

Food for thought:
Republicans are waiting to pass their tax-reform bill before they move to impeach Donald Trump, a former Republican member of Congress reportedly told a former US labour secretary.

McGuinness cared about people. He joined the IRA after "Bloody Sunday" when the British forces killed people he knew. Having made his peace with the opposing side, Ian Paisley, its leader and he became inseparable friends. The Stormont assembly members nicknamed them "The Chuckle Brothers" for their good humor and friendship. He did many evil deeds, but he was not an evil man and he did make a good hearted and historic move toward peace.
Our Queen is a Christian woman and believes in redemption for the repentant. She also, May God always bless her, tries to fulfill the role of chief ambassador with foreign leaders - within reason. She has shaken the hand of many a vile tinpot dictator, for the greater good. For all her wealth and my personal poverty, I do not envy her for her job. I am glad she does not have to meet Chump. Sometimes the job is just too hard, even for that formidable lady.
