Well spotted.
The advice not to travel with babies is due the fact that the vaccine is not usual given in the first year of life, and so they are very vulnerable. Although, we as a family traveled to live on a third world country when our son was under 6 months, and he was the last of the family to get any stomach bugs. We put this down the the positive effect of breast feeding him. |

Lifestyle Health Potential measles outbreak in Byron Bay result of âirresponsible parentsâ SEPTEMBER 9, 2019 9:04PM Vaccination of our kids is essential for creating herd immunity against diseases like measles, whooping cough and meningococcal. Which Vaccines are provided to Australian kids for free on the vaccination schedule, and which are available for parents to purchase at an additional cost? Advice on what to kid if your kids are afraid of needles. news.com.au Health authorities are bracing themselves for a major measles outbreak in Byron Bay after a child returned from a trip to New Zealand carrying the highly contagious disease. Reports of the childâs return have sparked fears of an epidemic in the Northern NSW town, where one in three children are not vaccinated, NZ Herald reports. New Zealand is in the midst of a huge surge in measles cases, with almost 900 in Auckland, and more than 1100 confirmed cases notified across the country. Source: Supplied Chair of the Northern NSW Local Health District, Dr Brian Pezzutti, said parents who take their unvaccinated children to disease-riddled nations are âsimply irresponsibleâ. âItâs irresponsible for the child to be exposed in the first place but then irresponsible to bring the child back into their own community,â Dr Pezzutti said. âItâs all very well for the mothersâ groups to tut-tut, but there needs to be more pressure from the community to make sure these children are immunised.â undefined New Zealand is in the grips of a serious outbreak that has affected more than 1000 people. Symptoms include cough, runny nose, inflamed eyes, red blotchy rash, and a fever, though some donât appear until 10 to 14 days after exposure. The disease is so contagious that 90 per cent of people exposed will become infected if they are not immunised. undefined Health experts urge parents in the Byron Bay community to vaccinate their children.
