A year ago I did a google search on intentional community living with the pandemic in mind.

I found the site below, and my wife and I investigated it.  It is legit; the people there really *are* living in community, and desire to take care of one another.  Anyone wanting to find a place to shelter in community may want to link to:

I am a fan of Francis Schaeffer of L'Abri. To live in a community like this would be close to heaven on earth. The protection and safety would be wonderful.

Every day, it is my hope, that I live out my faith around those who do not have any. To be light in darkness is the call I follow. To lightly salt in order to make others thirsty the duty.

Thanks for the link. I love to explore these communities and wonder about them.

Thank you abba.

Thank you, Standingfirm, I am also a devotee of the Schaeffers, and their lifestyle.  I believe they not only caught the vision of shinging light on the current darkness, but also that living it out in community was / is the calling of the church as far as being His Body.

One wonders, by the way, why Frankie Schaeffer (their son) decided to go Greek Orthodox many years ago....

My wife and I are considering moving to Bartimaeus...

4abba: as i have said elsewhere, it is about relationship first and then we bring that relationship back to our religion. I can't wait until we can all sit around and chat, there will be an eternity.

I am rereading "Evangelical Disaster". Written in '84 it is amazing how timely the book is for what is going on with the church today. Schaeffer was truly gifted.

A second generation problem with Frankie? It is common enough. It sounds like he embraced a historic Christianity and did not find a true relationship. Where is Susan's faith? Don't hear much about her. She is an author too.
