I saw this on another board. We should ALL be adding Primatene Mist to first Aid kits!

Allergic reactions can hit us ALL without warning, even if we have never had one before. A few puffs of an inhalor can certainly save a life!

Let me also add this: as someone who has asthma and is on two different asthma meds, I appreciate the reminder to stock this in case I run out of my prescriptions! -- Libby

If you want it, you'd better stock up now.  The FDA is considering pulling Primatene Mist from the Market.

Read it and weap.   http://tinyurl.com/brb68

The active ingrediant in Primatene is epinephrine, which is a bronchodilator. It also has uses in treating allergic reactions.

While Primatene is not, ahem, standard treatment for anaphyaxis, it might be used in an emergency situation.  Since a lot of you are stocking antibiotics, there is always the chance of a severe allergic reaction.  It could come in handy. Theoretically, anyway.

This is not a medical recomendation on my part, your milage may vary, prices slightly higher west of the rockies, objects may be closer than they appear, and all of the rest of the standard disclaimers apply.
