Dustin Hoffman would even have his hands full with this one. They may have to interview Rick from Walking Dead to get some input with this.

We'll be alright, because:
1, The sun will never set on the British Empire (God doesn't trust them in the dark) 2, The politicians havent spoken much yet, so we are still getting mostly the truth 3, and of course the Saudi Arabians would never lie to us, so when she tests negative it must be true, and incidentally to all those I have heard put a religous spin on this: this poor lady had cancer, probably ebola, had to travel to a "civilised" country to get treatment. Looks to me like the Goddess has something to say to the human race. Probably the same as she said 5 1/2 thousand years ago in Sumaria: "Learn some science you superstitious, half-breed, angel-monkeys!" |

On a more serious note, our governments here in the UK (I use the plural as to all intents and purposes Scotland has a separate government already) are very slow in reacting in the obvious ways that could control disease. For example: during the various flu outbreaks and the norovirus our schools were never closed and the spread of these diseases was horrendous. There is no reason whatsoever to believe that they will react any quicker if ebola gets into the country. Scotland in particular has a large number of middle eastern oil magnates and african students who arrive at aberdeen airport.
Secondly, you can't trust a virus to do the expected. A minimum of 17% of your physical makeup is composed of DNA from vegetables and rodents (mine too) among others. We are, as humans, a hybrid race between no less than 5 other members of the homo species. Also to suggest that an animal virus cannot invade the food chain as floral (plant kingdom) viruses have in the past invaded us and the rest of the fauna (animal kingdom). If we dodge this bullet as a species, be assured Mother Nature has a machine gun and a lot of ammo. Incidentally, before someone jumps on me for the simplistic science, there may in fact be as many as 47 known hominid sub-species in our makeup and there may be even more out there that we have not dug up yet. We certainly have rat, runner bean, and God alone knows how many other food species DNA, introduced by viruses (yes we did eat rats back then) incorporated in our genes. Mother Nature has been using GM techniques for a long time. Remember, what does not kill us makes us stronger and a few will survive no matter what. I hope Mother Nature insures that the , obviously above average intelligence, pleasant people here are among those spared . |
