Spain's Barcelona reports suspected case of Ebola virusA 38-year-old man from Guinea has been admitted to the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona on Wednesday evening on suspicion of contracting the deadly Ebola virus, local media reported on Thursday. The man arrived in Spain 10 days ago from the city of Labe, Guinea, where he was hospitalized because of cranio-encephalic injuries. There, he could have been in contact with infected patients. Blood samples have been sent to the National Centre of Microbiology in Madrid and the results will be known in 24 or 48 hours. This was the second suspected case of Ebola virus in the Mediterranean city of Barcelona. Last week a 36-year-old man from Senegal was admitted to hospital on suspicion of contracting the virus but tests said he was not infected. Meanwhile, the nun Juliana Bonoha, was discharged from the Hospital Carlos III in Madrid on Thursday morning after doctors confirmed she was not infected. Sister Juliana arrived in Spain with missionary Miguel Pajares who died on Aug. 12 after contracting Ebola in Liberia. Pajares was the first European victim of the disease and Sister Juliana was kept under observation for 21 days to make sure she would not develop Ebola.
