I have been looking at disposable coveralls in case we need them for Ebola. I am confused.

We have so many experts who can tell us what we need. There are so many types of disposable coveralls and I am not sure which ones to purchase. They have disposable water resistant is that what is needed or is water resistance not needed?

Do you get the coveralls with a hood or do you get non-hood and purchase the separate hood that looks like a nun's hood?

Full Face shields are a must I know that with mask.

I would really appreciate help here from you experts.

Just looked at a photo at one of the Ebola sites. Looks like they use the coveralls without hood. They use the "nun" hood with ski goggles (at lest that is what the goggles look like) full face shield, and a mask.

Now what type of coverall and hood? Water proof, water resistant or does not matter.

FluMom

The most cost effective coverall would be the DuPont Tyvek XPert which has taped seams and is Type 5/6 meaning is can withstand liquid sprays but not a direct soaking.

The next step up is called the DuPont Tychem C which is for blood splatters and biological hazards.

Both coveralls come with a hood, elastic wrists and ankles

Be warned though, once you encapsulate yourself in one of these suits for long periods it is critical to keep an eye on heat stress. Wearing one can add up to 10 degrees to your body temperature .... not good in summer or if you are outdoors.

You also have to learn the correct procedures for removing and disposing of contaminated PPE

Thanks, I will look both of these up. I would just use if going out in an Ebola pandemic. I could also take care of my son if necessary....hope not but must be ready. I will buy for him also.
