We should also add that with regard to the 21 day incubation, I believe they're saying this particular case with Dr. Spencer may have exceed the 21 day period.  12% of all cases exceed the 21 days.

NY papers websites are running way slow.

http://nypost.com/2014/10/23/nyc-may-have-its-first-ebola-case/

Craig Spencer spent Wednesday night bowling in Williamsburg, the sources said. He used Uber taxis to get there and back.

He landed at JFK airport on Oct. 17 on a connecting flight from Brussels, a source said. Spencer’s temperature was 98.7 degrees upon arrival, the source added.

Clad in hazmat suits, FDNY hazardous materials specialists sealed off his fifth-floor apartment around noon. Cops blocked off West 147th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam after he was taken to the hospital, witness Oscar Nunez said.

Another witness saw a patient wrapped in blankets “like a mummy” being lifted from a wheelchair to a stretcher that was placed inside an ambulance

Could give whole new meaning to a New York Minute.

How ironic it would be if one of the ones charged with helping save lives starts a New York chain over some pizza (my word) and a game of bowling!

I hope the powers that be start to catch on that people cannot be trusted to self isolate. And I don't think that it's because they are fools, self absorbed or don't care about people around them. They are in DENIAL and can't be expected to be otherwise.   Particularly if you have had real exposure to this disease, not just the panicky worry about touching a surface in a public place, but actually having been in the room while someone with this disease is vomiting or what have you.   They must be scared to death on some level and no one can stay on that level for 21 days. You would have to talk yourself down to believing that it won't happen to you. You're fine and why not go out for dinner, or boweling or to try on some wedding dresses. A cruise is probably ok too.   EVERYBODY with actual exposure to this thing needs to be put somewhere, under court order not to leave, with food brought in and waste hauled out for 21 days until they are clear.

I think a terrorist will get a vile of spit from someone with Ebola and then bring it first to Germany and place it at train stations, air ports, malls, and then bring it to America and do the same.it will be as simple as that... this is what a smart terrorist will do...

I think you are right Jade4now, denial is a big part of it.  But let us not forget good ole arrogance as well. At least with the thought of why wouldn't he have self quarantined.
