Allegheny County leads state in flu cases

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. —
Health officials said Allegheny County leads the state in the most number of reported flu cases.
According to officials, more than 5,000 cases have been reported across the state. About 800 of those were reported in Allegheny County alone.
The flu has hit “widespread” status.
It’s not clear how many people who tested positive for the sickness received flu shots.

Comment: This jibes with what I'm seeing at my workplace. A significant percentage of my customers have ILIs. Only a few co-workers are sick so far, but I fear that's only a matter of time. 17 1/2 years at this location and i still cannot believe how pi$$-poor people are at basic handwashing and respiratory hygiene. (Face-palm).

Update Jan. 1, 2015
KDKA-TV (Pittsburgh) is reporting that Allegheny County now has 1332 cases of flu, with one death, a 55-year-old man with several underlying health issues.
