Looking at history a pandemic is the result of many factors. without World War 1 the "Spanish Flu" would not spread around the world. To contain an illness economy is important. Health is always an issue in wars. Proberbly in the last two hundred years during wars more soldiers died because of healthproblems than the actual fighting.
