Weird Warning on Old Dishware

   Ok, so my sister and I inherited some very pretty but very old dishes from an Aunt.  These dishes were made in the 20's 30's and 40's maybe even earlier than that not really sure.  My sister tested her dishes a couple of years ago for Lead and it was positive.  Pretty dished but she did not want to give people lead poisoning so she did not use them.

I am having a tea party for a couple of little girls in our neighborhood so I tested an old tea set...LEAD!  So luck I have a new modern tea set...no lead.

So lesson if you have or purchase old dishes TEST them!  You can get a kit at Home Depot.  Lead Check Swabs are what they are called...better safe than sorry!
