Seville (Spain) (AFP) - Temperatures soared above 40 degrees (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in Spain and Portugal on Monday prompting health concerns and the scorching heat was expected to move north to France and Britain later in the week. The soaring temperatures prompted Spain's national weather office to put the region of Cordoba on red alert, the highest level on the scale, meaning the weather posed an "extreme risk" to health. |

Also in my region we may face extreme temperatures (maybe up to 42 C). This will result in over 70.000 additional deaths. http://www.euromomo.eu/ and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_European_heat_wave and http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/heat-to-spread-across-europe-t/49419140

Many locations from France and England into Germany and Poland may experience their hottest conditions of the summer. Temperatures continue to reach dangerous levels across much of western Europe while spreading into central Europe as a ridge in the jet stream builds overhead. This will help to transport the hot air farther to the north and east. |

Warning in a large part of western Europe at the moment http://www.meteoalarm.eu/ne_NL/0/0/EU-Europa:.html: english:
Each of us, even in good health, is threatened, Danger is greater for elderly people, people with chronic illness or mental disease, people who regularly take medications, and isolated persons. Athletes and people who work outdoors should be careful of dehydration and heat stroke. Pay particular attention to children. Symptoms of heat stroke are: fever over 40° C, warm, red and dry skin, headache, nausea, drowsiness, increased thirst, confusion, convulsions and loss of consciousness. call a doctor in case of faintness or behavioral problems. If you need help, ask the municipal services. If you know elderly, chronically ill or isolated persons in your surroundings, ask for their news or visit them twice a day. Accompany them in a cool place. During the day, close shutters, curtains and windows. Ventilate at night Use fans and/or air conditioning if available. Otherwise try to go into a cool or air-conditioned environment (supermarkets, cinemas ...) two to three hours a day. Wet your body several times a day with an atomizer, a washcloth or taking showers or baths. Drink plenty of water several times a day if you are an adult or a child, and about 1.5L of water a day if you are a senior. Continue to eat normally. I always find it interesting that European media reports on heat waves usually include many photos of lovely women, most of whom are scantily clad! I'm of the opinion that the climate is, in fact, changing due to global warming. In Chicago, the sun is a deep red color due to all the ash in the air from massive wildfires in Alaska and Canada. Look at this map of wildfires in Alaska....mind-boggling! |

On the "wildfires" in Canada/Alaska:
"Wildfires" in British Columbia Canada sending smoke and ash over Vancouver Island.. Ironically, each "wildfire" location is near a volcanic complex.. http://climate.cod.edu/flanis/satellite/2km/index.php… Closer view here: |

Also from Dutchsinse:
Giant methane releases seem to be occurring out of Alaska, and Northern Canada. Huge releases of flammable gas , possibly mixed with Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) are coming from MULTIPLE oil + gas pumping operations... leading to huge fires in Canada. Being "blamed on lightning" from non-existent storms... and as soon as you say something.. you get attacked.. thus you know the paid pets are on the prowl. Remember the large methane release a week ago in South Canada.. same thing is happening now in North Canada. They're trying to hide this because look what it is causing. We've got a huge problem on our hands, and currently if you say anything, you get slammed. Why? Because we're at a point of no return, where things are going to rapidly spiral out of control. Unless of course, somehow , magically the methane stops being released... and the plate pressure from below ceases.. until then.. expect more of the same. Fires near pumping operations, and plumes which appear all at once on clear days with no lightning. When this happened in the United States... deniers tried to say they were "timed control burns"... now what is their excuse? TIMED LIGHTNING STRIKES?! Maybe its farmers in the arctic North burning their sugar cane fields right guys?! LOL Deniers, you're funny, and I'm going to ram this story up where the Sun doesn't shine just because you decided to come on the attack within 5 minutes of me making my 1st post. smile-emoticon Enjoy! _______ several of these locations are oil/gas pumping operations! The huge fires are NOT showing up in Alberta.. now moved over by an entire state... Notice how they all go off at the same time... |
