While denying that Russian pilots defied safety measures, many on the
USS Donald Cook in the Baltic Sea did not think so. This is
brinksmanship of the first order and had the jet fired there would have
been no time or ability to prevent a lethal strike to the ship.
Not one but many Russian planes flew as a "warning" to the U.S. ship which was within firing range of a Russian Navy fleet base. The question is what would the U.S. do if a Russian ship were off the shore of California in striking distance of the Bay Area or LA? One of the passes by an Su 24 was within 30 feet of the deck of the American ship. Medclinician |

The escalation of the buildup of Russian aircraft as well as more advanced nuclear submarines continues. Testing of a multi-launch of more than a dozen nuclear missiles in the Arctic represents the number of missiles which could wipe out most of America's major cities. This is not North Korea whose missiles "might make it through."
The reduction of the U.S. military is a dangerous president which ignores the current reality of an ever aggressive world. Whatever it takes, there is a need to catch up in technology, manufacturing, and recruitment of fighters and support. Medclinician - John Bell - CWN |
