Renowned conductor Valery Gergiev is leading a concert in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra to support the restoration of the UNESCO site and honor victims of the war. The city of Palmyra was devastated by Islamic State terrorists who occupied the site for some 10 months before it was liberated by Syrian troops.

Praying is perhaps something which is done less and less in Western Civilization or at least as is depicted on the media so absorbed in freedom to not pray or not believe in God or some of that which has united many nations and hearts by whatever name or however God is worshipped. Whatever religion or belief - a city devastated celebrates a desire and chance to rebuild from the horror of war and the beginnings of a unified world against the threat and operations of terrorism. Perhaps it is music which transcends all language, words, and distance, than can help to begin to unite our world.
