Thunderstorm Asthma deaths?!?!

Here is a link (hoping it works) to an article on severe thunderstorm asthma causing 5 deaths in Kuwait. About a week ago there where 8500 hospitalized and 8 dead from same cause in Australia... I'd never heard of this before - anyone on here familiar with this?
