Irma is doing her damage. I am waiting to see if the surge is as bad as they say it was going to be. At least the winds so far have not done too much damage.

I think Harvey may have been worse but Irma is not over. Sorry to say but people who live in the paths of hurricanes should pay for hurricane insurance. My aunt had a condo on the Galt Ocean Mile and when my parents inherited the property they sold it right away because they could not get insurance on the condo because it was east of I 95.    Many of these people in Texas and Florida do not have flood insurance and expect the American people to pay for their repairs. Sorry but if they live there they should pay for flood insurance.

After we had the floods in Colorado I got flood insurance even though I am not in a flood zone...the law changed that people not in a flood zone could buy flood insurance. Companies got smart they needed the money coming in but when that insurance went over 700.00 a year I dropped it. I went to google earth and found out I was 22 feet higher than all the people below me I figured the water would go over the road and to lower houses. Now if I lived in those lower houses I would have flood insurance. Those poor people are living in a lake if we got a 1000 year flood.

Sorry you live on a coastal area you should be required to have special insurance for hurricanes. Same thing for Tornado Insurance for the mid west. People should be required to carry special insurance for that too. I carry earthquake insurance even though I am in Colorado just in case. We do have some fault lines.

Just logical!
