Very weird. I know we talk about waves in past pandemics as being distinct events, but I wonder if any of them were separated by lulls as marked as this one? I'm sure an outbreak spreading like ripples emanating from a single source will tend to crisscross itself as it circles the globe, potentially clouding the appearance of distinct waves. With this being the first long term outbreak we've seen that's geographically trapped in one country, are we witnessing the wave phenomenon in it's purest form for the first time. And what's next?

"Any community that fails to prepare, with the expectation that the federal government will come to the rescue, will be tragically wrong." Michael Leavitt, HHS Secretary.

I'm wondering if they are just not reporting because of the "19th National Congress of the Communist Party". They don't like anything negative in the news that competes or overshadows how great the "Party" is.
