Yesterday I was talking to the receptionist at our doctors surgery, and I asked about the flu vaccine, and she told me that it would be a bit delayed this year. We are currently in Autumn here, and the reason for the delay was that a new vaccine is being developed to include the strains that have just done the rounds in the UK and USA. She said it would be available in late April.

I have no idea if vaccines can be developed that quickly, but she seemed very knowledgeable. She also told me that she would have it, as would her children.
Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.
