DJ-Very unclear situation-possible more shootings, most likely 1 person died.

Trains stopped-(????? not confirmed would be major) Utrecht is the central point for trains in the Netherlands-will effect public transport all around the country.The part of Utrecht were the confirmed attack took place is in an area with lots of migrants. Still much unclear-highest terrorist ranking-police see it as a terror attack-but still could be "street crime".)

People in all of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utrecht are told to stay inside because a further attack is believed to be possible...

(DJ-When you compare this to New Zealand or Norway mass murders the terrorist put a decleration on line-was very busy making clear what he was doing and why. This is not the case here now. Also unclear wether the attack was against muslims, the audience in general-or directed against one person in a crowd (near a tram-bullets getting also into the tram. There have been criminal incidents like that earlier in Amsterdam.)

DJ-There most likely are reasons why "intelligence"/anti-terrorism see this as an act of terror. Public transport in Utrecht is down-that is major. (Reminds me of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Marathon_bombing)

https://www.rtvutrecht.nl/nieuws/1895347/ Police looking for 37 year old Turkish born man, Gökmen Tanis. Police-according to social media-very active in Utrecht. Extra police activity all around the country.

(Coming wednesday there will be provincial elections-the provinces elect the "first chamber" of parliament. Most likely the present government would lose its majority there. DJ-The police loking for a Turkish man does not mean he is the main/only suspect. It is very unclear.)

Also (elementary) schools in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amersfoort closed.(Pretty bizar-to justify this anti-terror must know more they are not telling the public. Shopping centers down, public transport down, a major city is kept hostage in an anti-terror action against one man ? There have been police searches in several buildings (most in poorer neighbourhoods) police warned for shots and bombs.

Utrecht mayor-three people killed, 9 wounded of wich 3 critical/serious. Suspect still on the run-criminal background (Person with same name stood trial march 4 for rape. Neighbours claim 37 y/o man "mentaly unhealthy". (Mayor claims terrorist motive, possibly more suspects.)

There are several arrests made-maybe related with "this situation". (Now the twist is that the police can not rule out the possibility the man did shoot at persons in a personal fight-no terrorism at all.....at least one of the victems seems to be a Turkish woman. (DJ-Kurdish "Turk" against "Turkish Turks" is also possible-we did have several incidents of that kind...would be seen as terrorism when it goes this scale since it could cause a reaction. DJ-I admit this is speculation. The official story is very unclear though.)

carbon20, you are correct, the main suspect is a "crazy Turk/Kurd" (not very likely even terrorists would like to work with) with a criminal record. DJ-I do not know why the police etc. went on full terror-attack scale. Did they base it on rumours of several attacks ? Were they planning an anti-terror operation ?

Lots of questions remain....

Not every Turk/Kurd-junky-just released from prison-shouting "Allah akbar" and shooting at possibly his aunt near/in a tram is a "terrorist". (Even with some salafist links) It looks like authorities were expecting a reaction on the New Zealand mass murder-that is the only excuse I can think of for what looks like an overreaction of Dutch authorities.

(DJ-I have very serious doubts on how they will deal with a real major act of terrorism. Spending cuts on mental healthcare may be a main reason why this psychopath was able to do what he did. Politics do not want this kind of news.)
