Something you have to consider though... As far as I know all the reported deaths were of people that got sick back in December when there where far fewer confirmed cases. To find out what the rate is among the 600 confirmed sick today, we will have to wait a couple weeks.
So the mortality might be MUCH higher. We still have to little information to even make an educated guess about how bad it is. |

There's a new Netflix doco just out that in episode one talks about the Spanish Flu and the availability of world travel in 1918, and about population levels and concludes that if it happened again today, rather than 50 - 100 million deaths, it would cause "hundreds of millions of deaths". I think the series is called Pandemic.
