For stocking up I'd recommend checking out www.grocerygame.com.  The whole basis of this site is stocking up on sale items for 12 weeks intervals.  They offer a 4 week trial for $1 to try it out.

Basically they combine coupons with sale prices to get what they call the rock bottom sale prices on many products in the store.  It's available in most states in the US and it's great.  Like for stocking up with this Avian Flu, I don't have to buy any cleaning products, medicine, TP, papertowels, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.  I already have them, lot's of them and most of this I got for free.  Another example is about two weeks ago I bought 9 baby wipes and 9 bottles of baby wash, with coupons I got all the wipes for free and the baby wash for $1.00 each.
Just an idea....

I'll look again for mushrooms. I even called over a store employee :-0

There was a table at Walmart with free passes to Sam's. I grabbed a pile :-)

I sprouted some Alfalfa seeds today. When my oatmeal/whole wheat bread came out of the oven, I sliced some right away and added some mozzarella cheese and alfalfa sprouts. The hot bread melted the cheese. That was SO yummy!

I need to stock up on more of the alfalfa seeds! Somewhere I remember that eating too many of them EVERY day can make you sick :-( I forget how :-( Too bad, because they complement the wholegrain bread into a complete protein.

Here in NW Arkansas we're working on our garden.  This is our first garden in our new house so we're starting from the ground up, so to speak.  Top soil is non-existant so we had to buy a truck load of soil for our raised beds.

We still have a couple of weeks to go before everything needs to be in the ground - I think we'll make it in time.

Prepmeister:  Question - where did you get the adapter for coleman stove to fit bulk propane tank?   Also where did you get the DC battery source?  Many thanks

My 55 gallon water barrels came today. I would like input from the group. Should I fill them now, or wait till the flu hits?

I don't see the point of storing water before the flu hits. Why would the water supply be affected unless lots of workers become sick at the same time? That won't happen on day 1.
