The shipping is almost to good to be true.

I have my tax refund coming in about 10 day's   If this company is legit I will order enough supplies to last me a year.

Yes, I have placed three orders with this company.  Very pleased.  Although keep in mind that the shipping is built into the price of the items, the 4.95 is more like a processing fee.  You can find cheaper items, but then get socked with the shipping.  I like knowing up front what it's gonna cost me, helps me decide what I can bring in at that time.  I once placed an order for supplies that was just over $100.00 but by the time I got the charge w/ shipping the order cost me $234.00...no kidding.  More in shipping than in goods.  I was livid, and haven't ordered from the company since.  Oh well, live and learn.

I ordered 200 pounds of Farina from them about aweek ago.  It cost me 6 bucks to have it shipped and I got it all today.  I WILL continue to order from them.

FWIW
I checked Honeyville out several weeks back. Their prices seemed kind of
high to me. I mean, come on, $33.99 for a bag of wheat? That's
ridiculous.

I called these guys, http://www.survivalacres.com and asked for an order
quote. They charge $6.95 shipping on freeze dried food (pretty cheap)
and 'Tier 1' (best) UPS or freight charges on their other stuff. My order
was dehydrated food (wheat $8.31!!). With shipping, I saved over $700
compared to Honeyville. They weren't only cheaper, they were a LOT
cheaper.

I don't know how anyone who thinks paying 4 - 5 times the price can be a
better deal. Actual shipping cost is probably the way to go if you ask me.

I agree with you 33 dollars is high. I have flour, rye and wheat already. I only buy online if I cant get it here in my city. Looked all over for dry  whole eggs. Also I dont want to wait for prepping supplies if it has to be backordered. Yesterday I placed my  order with Emergency Essentials (comfort food chocolate pudding)...will post when this  order arrives.

Apparently the discounted shipping is over with at survivalacres.com.  I checked out the shippping on $300 worth of goods and the shipping was over $60.  At 137 shipping pounds, that is just over half the weight I had shipped through Honeyville and 10 times the cost...  Even if the prices are a few dollars more, I'm going back to Honeyville.

Shipping is actual cost. We don't profit a penny from it. UPS has gotten expensive and is now charging us a 5% fuel charge (we are still using a 3% figure). We find that charging the actual costs rather then making everyone pay the highest rates embedded in the cost is a much better deal.

Since you are in Zone 2, this is what you paid Honeyville for your Farina: $32.36 x 4 = $129.44 + $5 = $134.44 delivered.

From us, Farina (Germade) would have been $83.61 delivered.  That's a $50.83 savings.

Please bear in mind that your recent quote for TVP was 137 lbs, below the UPS 200 lbs 'hundred weight rates'.  If you hit this minimum, these are Tier 1 commercial rates, the best in the country.  For you, $14.25 per hundred (200 lbs = $28.50 .vs. 137 lbs = $63.77).  UPS punishes the lighter orders - what can I say? It's UPS and they've pretty much got a lock on the shipping.  We do freight orders all the time for about half what UPS charges, but freight requires 1,000 lbs.

That is also why I ordered from Honeyville.  What the hell is Germade?  You should change the name to something more commonly known outside the farming community.  I looked for "Cream of Wheat" and "Farina" and neither came back from the search so I went elsewhere.

200 pounds of farina would have been 83.61 delivered?  How's that with probably close to $90 for delivery (137 pounds = $60 for shipping 200 pounds cant be cheaper)?

UPS punishes orders over the standard 70 lb weight table.  Check it out for yourself.  At exactly 71 lbs, the rates take a 'jump'.   It's actually cheaper by a lot to ship 200 lbs then it is to ship 137 lbs.

We can get away with shipping 170 - 180 lbs at the 200 lbs rate, but not 137 lbs.  And we tell you if you are close to that 200 lbs minimum, because it will save you so much.  We always advise 'hundred weight rates' if the customer is able to do it, the savings are substantial.

That Germade quote I gave you was accurate because it was 200 lbs (best rates).

Your recent quote would be far cheaper too on shipping if you simply bumped up your weight from 137 lbs to close to 200 lbs (but I would prefer you simply emailed me).  The money you save on shipping would actually pay for the additional products used to increase your weight.
