I have both the butter and cheese. I opened a can of each at the request of another curious prepper and tested them out. The cheese is awesome! I like mild cheddar & this is a mild cheddar. The consistency is closer to a firm spreadable than the described slicing, maybe if it was chilled it would be the slice-able they describe. I ordered a case & wouldn't hesitate to buy another two or three. The butter is good, but not great. I read somewhere that it's the fact that cows are more than likely grazers and not fed like our commercial dairy cows. The yellow is deeper and it left just a hint of a greasy feel on my lips. I probably wouldn't order more but am pleased that I have the one case. I am buying butter & storing it in my freezer. Cheaper and more akin to what I am used to. You can preserve butter by canning it but it's tricky to do it right. If you are considering trying it yourself read the directions thoroughly and follow them exactly. |

I agree with Sophia,
The cheese is great. I am going to order another case once my tax refund hits the bank. The butter is ok. It is not what we are used to in the states. It tastes ok but like sophia said, is more yellow and has a slightly different taste. Sophia, if you chill the can the cheese slices very nicely. I cut the corner off one side so it wont roll. Then use an old velvetta cheese cutter and slice it thick. It makes an AMAZING toasted cheese sandwich. My only problem with the cheese is minor. Once the can is open I eat the whole thing in one setting.
