In Barneveld-Netherlands in a chickenfarm the (mild) H7N7-virus meant the dead for 30.000 chickens. Barneveld is the centre for Dutch poultry-farming, 12,5% of all poultry in the Netherlands is concentrated in that area.

In Friesland (Northern part of the Netherlands) 22.000 chickens will be killed due to the find of a H7 Avian Influenza infection. Although it is considered a mild variation because of mutation-risks the birds will be killed. The farm might have been infected from wild birds-outdoor access.
