I saw a thing on TV several months ago, about how to properly wash your hands. First, wash hands, palms, fingers and tops with hot water and soap for at least 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly. Now, the crucial part. When turning the water OFF use a fresh paper towel, making sure hands do not touch the taps.
I'm learning to be "paranoid" from my mom, lol. She never touches a doorknob etc with her bare hands, she always pulls her sleeve down to do it. I'm doing it for doorknobs, handles on public transit etc, and pedestrian buttons at intersections. Only now I've caught a cold...grr. I think my coworker gave it to me :(. |

Hi Snowy Owl. Glad to know I'm not the only one who goes to great lengths in public not to touch common doorknobs, buttons, handles, etc. I HATE being in a bathroom that as fully touchless flushers, sinks, soap dispensers and driers--only to have to use my hand on that horrible doorknob in order to get out of the bathroom. Was just thinking . . . how much good will it do to use sleeves, etc. when trying to open doors in public? Won't the virus simply attach itself to the fabric of our clothing? I plan on having a sh*tload of latex gloves and trying to use them when I am out, changing them every time I touch something that belongs to me or evy time I have to get in my car or otherwise leave a dangerous or unkown area. I just don't like the idea of my shirtsleeve being an H5N1 transport. Any thoughts? |
