Is anyone doing a garden this year? What is everyone doing for prepping this month?

Satori, I have a Berkey with several extra filters. If you strain the water from your local river, lake, etc.. with a strainer with a coffee filter in the strainer. Then I would strain it again, let the water settle for a day or two then pour off the top clear water then sanitize that water with bleach. Then put it through the Berkey or a homemade Burkey. I am also thinking about a Propur as a backup system.

Remember:

3 minutes without Oxygen
3 days without water
3 weeks without food

Well just looked at the test results from the Propur...Big Berkey beat the Propur hands down!   So I guess I will just purchase more Berkey filters including the arsenic filter. I believe in back up, back up, back up. Watched too many Twilight Zone TV programs where people died because they did not have a back up.

When I purchased the Royal Berkey (good size for my family) I purchased extra filters and replacement parts for the spigot too. Like I said back up!

Heads up Aussies -

I went through my preps and decided to replace my powdered milk supply. I've been to 3 supermarkets and all have no stocks of powered milk. I asked at the last place I visited why and was told that Asians buy it as soon as it hits the shelves - in large quantities, to send home to their relatives in China. From what I was told, quality powdered milk is hard to get in China and is cheaper here.
