BERLIN, June 16 (Xinhua) -- A 65-year-old Middle 
East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) patient passed away in the early hours 
of June 6 at the hospital in German state of Lower Saxony, said 
Niels-Stensen-Kliniken on Tuesday.
According to the German hospital network, the man 
from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia had overcome the actual 
MERS infection in Niels-Stensen-Kliniken Marienhospital Osnabrueck, but 
died of a secondary disease.
He was infected in February with the MERS virus during a trip to the Arabian Peninsula, said the Niels Stensen-Kliniken.
