wow.  Out of 46,000 chickens, the BF killed 40,000 of them.  That is truly amazing.  It infected and killed 85% of the entire flock.  I''ve never heard of anything that contagious, let alone that deadly.   I would hate to think that it could infect 85% of our population.   How could the BF kill 85%?  How can any virus be that pathogenic?    This thing is really supped up.   It will not be good if this H5N1 strain goes H2H.

I was in Africa about 9 years ago.  The poverty and corruption cannot be imagined.  The world is now totally screwed.   The World Health Organization will never be able to deal with the Magnitude of this DISASTER.  Good luck to everyone on this board.

Question for clarification... Albert ? Someone else? "The bird flu killed 40,000 out of 46,000. Did they actually get infected w/ BF or does that include those who were culled? -- Libby

us humans have done a really good job of trying to destroy this planet.

Now it is the Earths turn to get rid of the lice. I always was of the opinion that the earth needed to get rid of 2/3 of the world population to recover.

What may come out of Africa may be much worse than what has gone in.
