Me and my family have decided to hunker down in our retreat starting next Friday.
 
I cant tell you were it is of course, but it is on the outside of the city here.
 
I have been getting advice from this column from afar now for almost a year. Thanks to you all we are now fully prepped for one year.
 
Our preps are good for at least one year, so hopefully we would have outlasted BF.
 
I must admit I am a little anxious about all of this, but if you wanna survive, you gotta make the hard choices. I have wired up the internet into the bunker, so will give you weekly reports of how we are doing!

I am not as interested in what goes right, as what goes wrong. Things you forgot, items that do not work, something that needs to be done differently etc. Happy Hunkering :)

I am going to my next level of preparation , I will be buying a house in a small town on the lake.  The water is clean .  The town is less than 30,000 and pretty well crime free ,  It also has a major  training police academy

This is not a drill.

We are "hunkering" down because of BF. We believe that there are some cover ups going on.

I will keep you all posted starting from next Friday night. We go into the bunker on Friday morning.

Yes please do tell why you feel that there are cover ups going on.  And is it that serious that you really need to hunker down now.  If your wrong, you would be using your preps too soon.  Preps that you would need when this does actually hit.  I have a house full of little ones so, if there is something that is going on please do tell.

Did you just isolate yourself, meaning you still use power, have water, etc. as long as it is there, and this is not a drill in self-sufficiency?
Sorry, but I still don't quite understand the concept of your hunkering down and why. Are the coverups to such an extend that you want to start using up your preps? What if there will be these coverups for a year, and then a pandemic hits, do you still have enough?

I actually meant how to keep your sanity in the bunker yourself (even without kids). I did wonder how to keep the children occupied and entertained if you are cooped up like that.

Alls going pretty good here. We decided to bunker down earlier than planned for reasons that more educated readers will understand.
 
We are not concerned about preps, ours will last, I have faith in that.
 
Just wondering who else has gone to ground?

I think the folks here are just asking that you share reasons, experiences etc. to help them make better decissions for themselves just as you and your family have done through this forum. 
 
Think of it in terms of you helping others.  You do not have to be very specific in  the details.

I'm sorry Beth, and didn't mean to offend you. I think people suspected you might be a troll, because to most it seems a little unusual to hunker down like the real deal right now.
Please, inform us as much as you are willing too. Most of us have been following this board for at least half a year or more, and no one else I know of is isolating himself, without going to town and get more supplies or as a drill. That's what my remark about "the more informed reader will understand" meant. Most of us suspect cover-ups, and under-reporting, and are alert.
I think a lot are more informed.
But please, accept my apologies for offending you.

You asked why some seemed angry and sound like they’ve turned against you. In my humble opinion, just like many here, we gather information collectively, discuss the information, and try to make an informed decision on what to purchase, how to survive, and when to hunker down. Your decision (and personal business) not to share your thoughts on what triggered your hunker down-now scared many readers. It also feels like a friendship betrayal. We are all trying to care for our families, friends, and ourselves. We would entertain your thoughts on why now, but otherwise Bye-bye Wayne & Beth. It is your business.
