History

She spent a month at the Royal Free at the beginning of 2015 after the virus was detected when she arrived back in the UK.

The nurse was later discharged after apparently making a full recovery, and in March returned to work as a public health nurse at Blantyre Health Centre in South Lanarkshire.

In October last year it was discovered that Ebola was still present in her body, with health officials later confirming she had been diagnosed with meningitis caused by reactivation of the virus hidden in her CNS.

Today is once again being treated for ebola but details are at present sparse.

AN RAF aircraft has landed at Glasgow Airport to transport nurse Pauline Cafferkey to London where she is expected to receive treatment at the Royal Free hospital.

Ms Cafferkey was initially admitted to Glasgow  hospital for a third time since contracting Ebola, a health spokesman has confirmed.

An RAF Hercules aircraft landed in Glasgow shortly after 1pm to fly the nurse back to London.

A spokesman for the Royal Free Hospital said: "We can confirm that Pauline Cafferkey is being transferred to the Royal Free Hospital due to her previous infection by the Ebola virus.

"She will now be treated by the hospital's infectious diseases team under nationally-agreed guidelines.
