The Philippines has confirmed its second case of the deadly Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus.
The virus was detected in a 36-year-old foreigner who showed symptoms of the disease after arriving in Manila on June 19 from Dubai.
The man was admitted to a government hospital on July 4 and was under observation, Health Ministry spokesman Lyndon Lee-suy said.
The man had also travelled to Saudi Arabia, the spokesman said.
Mr Lee-suy said that contact tracing was now underway to prevent the spread of the disease.

The man's condition was reportedly improving and there was no known transmission to the community.
The first case discovered in the Philippines was in January. A Filipino nurse who worked in Saudi Arabia survived the disease.
Last month, Thailand confirmed its first case of MERS, becoming the fourth Asian country to register the deadly virus this year.
Thirty-one people have died from MERS in South Korea since the first case emerged there on May 20.
South Korea's health ministry said 181 people have been diagnosed with the disease.
The country has tightened its quarantine restrictions,imposing jail sentences on those who defy anti-infection measures.
MERS was first identified in humans in Saudi Arabia in 2012 and the majority of cases have been in the Middle East.
Scientists are not sure of the origin of the virus, but several studies have linked it to camels.
The World Health Organisation described South Korea's outbreak as a "wake-up call" but said it did not constitute a global emergency.

	Looks like another one was showing symptoms. In densely populated, it only takes a couple of cases to evolve into a South Korea situation, of which is difficult if not impossible to eradicate. Philippines confirms its second case of MERS MANILA, July 6 (UPI) -- The Philippines has confirmed it's second case of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS, after a 36-year-old man who'd flown there from Dubai tested positive for the virus. Officials said in a press conference that the patient was on the 14th of the virus's incubation period, which lowers the risk of it having been transmitted to other people on the flight. Although 8 other people are currently being quarantined because they had close contact with the patient, only one of them showed symptoms of the virus, said to Janette Garin, health secretary at the department of health in the Philippines, in a press release. Authorities are awaiting the results of that test. The 36-year-old man began showing symptoms on July 2 and on July 4 was admitted to the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine where he tested positive for MERS, according to GMA News. The man flew from Dubai to the Philippines, however authorities are tracking down 200 people who were on a flight from Saudi Arabia which he boarded after a stopover there. Garin reported that the man already is recovering due to a low amount of the virus in his body. This is the second confirmed case of MERS in the Philippines after a nurse, also arriving from Saudi Arabia, tested positive for it.
