I can't believe it's October already. I successfully cleaned out my pantry of all old food/canned goods, etc. in September. I still have a lot of things left, but I will start to restock on some items that I used up and need to replace. This month I also need to go through my OTC meds and restock those. Especially with what looks like may be an early flu season coming.

I admire you and need to do what you did. After next weekend I will take the next 2 weekends and follow your example! Thank you for a "kick in the pants"!

I did pick up a few OTC meds this week, not a huge amount, but a couple of bottles of ibuprofen, couple bottles of mucinex, couple bottles of Benadryl. I still have quite a bit left that is not expired also.

Having watch a very short TV programme (3 minutes) on Faraday, I realised that I had a nice metal cupboard and some old metal biscuit tins that would do well as Faraday cages.

I am starting to collect old electronic equipment that can be used as a backup and that needs to be stored (eg small radio, very old laptop computer, memory stick with important information etc).  In doing this I have also collected a pile of electronic equipment that needs to go to the recycling center.....to motivate myself I tend to think of this as a game of "pass the parcel", trying to pass on all the stuff I have no use for before the music stops (or SHTF).  [Note: I have a hard time getting rid of stuff - even useless stuffEmbarrassed]

Got 2 cords of wood for the price of 1.5 cords. I purchase from a very generous company I guess.   They have always been to the side of too much rather than less. That is why I purchase from them every year.

I have 5 to 5.5 cords on my property as I do every year. I do this in case TSHTF and I have to cut and dry wood for a year.   All of my wood is on wood stands or on concrete to avoid critters and bugs. Last year I used only 1.5 cords it was a warm winter. Never know what will happen even though I look at all the long range forecasts.

How are all of you northern peppers plan on keeping warm WTSHTS. My wood stove insert will do the job for a long time especially if I close off the room it is in. It will warm more of the house but why use up wood if we do not know how long we may have to last without electricity. No electricity no blowers for furnace.

I do have a concern that other countries would hit us with an EMP and we will be in big trouble if that happens.

Finally (after 11 years here) got around to collecting some juniper berries.  Not enough food value to keep one alive if food supplies are cut, but it might help the emotional side of things to have something to spice up what little food there is.
