comment: They aren't giving us the real news - or haven't been. This current flu is not only all over - 49 states widespread - but it is deadly.
The political stalemate could halt health care for a massive outbreak of flu in the United States. Hundreds of children are dying and it would appear the powers that be care more about immigrants than our own citizen hit with a nasty H3N2 mutant flu strain.

Hi Med, I have to agree with you we are not getting the real news. Even though Doc on this site says Cytokine Storms are not why people are dying I ask why are people dying so quickly especially young...under 50.
I can't believe all of them have some underlying condition especially the 40 something mother who was the picture of health before she died of the flu in 48 hours!!!
Something is not adding up here and I think people are being kept ignorant because nothing can be done about a Cytokine Storm. People in this country would panic if this is really what is happening.
The politicians care more about 800,000 Dreamers than all the Deplorables who are citizens!

Med - I also agree with you that we're not getting the real news but I don't think it's a conspiracy! I don't think they know what the real news is! I don't think most people know what influenza really is! Ask most people what their flu symptoms were and they say nausea and diarrhea! I'd bet 95% of the U S Congress don't know what a Cytokine is much less a Cytokine Storm!

You seem to forget that the GOP is the power that be and i don't think the "powers that be" give a damn about immigrants.

I don't think politicians (on either side) give a damn about anything except getting elected and then re-elected and are willing to do anything and everything to stay in office!
If politicians only play to their base, we all loose! What ever happened to compromise? We all want different things and unless you're a narcissist you know to get you have to give. Every day our country is loosing! Until we start acting like adults, it will continue to lose!

You also can't always tell if someone is ill just by looking.
Hubby is a cancer patient, has had a ruptured AAA and is in his mid 70s. He looks 55-60 and can physically outperform most people in theit 30-40s.
I have two friends who have had kidney transplants. They both look healthy, one held a very active and physically demanding job as a fireman until his late 50s. The other just shifts furniture!
The 40 something mother may also have some hidden condition.
