Please read this folks!

It describes the hidden things that occur in government rather well, things we do not usually see as members of the public, things which will come back to haunt/hurt us later.

This is the scariest article yet!

Thanks Carbon!

Just posting news from New Zealand ,

I thought our American cousins, would like to see, what others are saying,

Chump is not showing America's good side to say the least.....

And as for the NRA

"doctors should stay in the own lane "

well maybe the doctors who treat ALL the gun violence casualties should stop treating any NRA memberys, period.

then we might see some gun control in the USA

bunch of ####wits

There was a saying about Finland "Living here is wonderful like winning the lotto. But the cost of living is so high you need to actually win the lotto to be able to live here."

I gave up my membership in the NRA 20 years ago! When I was a kid they sponsored
rifle marksmanship clubs, gun safety seminars, and hunter safety classes! Between the NRA and my family I learned to shoot, how to hunt, ballistics, and reloading! The NRA back then was not a tool of the firearms industry and they weren't interested in politics! Sometime in the 70's they were taken over by the arms industry! Now their only interest is selling guns! Lots of guns! Guns to anyone who has the cash or credit to buy them! They don't care who buys them, they'll fight any restriction to sell them! They apparently don't care how many lives are taken by their products! The gun is so much a part of our history I don't think we'll ever go the way of Australia but I hope and pray we wake up to the fact that control is needed!

I have never owned a gun, I have fired one or two,to be honest I don't understand why one would own one, unless you a farmer and need to keep Vermin under control.

If your society is so bad that you feel you need one to protect your self maybe you need to look at the reasons why.

Maybe more mental health checks before a gun permit is given,

Canada and other countries also have guns but you don't see the Carnage that happens in the USA.

I just feel so sorry for the families that have their lives torn apart and for what......

Just because of a 300 year old clause on a bit of paper...

"the right to bear arms"

It's the 21st century not the 17th

Spot on Edwin, NZ is amazing but incredibly expensive to live in and wages are low.

We have a few guns, but we had to pass a rigorous home inspection and interview to get a gun licence and my husband had to attend a gun ownership course at the local police station and then pass a test. All this to get a licence, which he has to show to buy a gun (and he can't buy a hand gun - that's a whole other level of testing). He also has to show his licence to buy ammunition.

We have guns because we live on a farm and generally use them to shoot something we're about to eat. We choose not to indiscriminately kill wildlife for fun, we only kill something that is injured, sick or because we want to eat it.

Interestingly, when my husband applied for his licence, and he has had many years at officer level in the army so has plenty of experience, I had to be interviewed by a lovely old police officer, away from my husband. The man wanted to know if we had ever had any domestic violence, if my husband had anger issues or if I had ever been frightened of him. He told me that what I said to him would be in strictest confidence and if I didn't want him to have a licence for any reason, he would fail him and give him a different reason for the fail.

I was really touched by this, and the guy was a retired police officer who just did these domestic interviews. He was so kind and sympathetic that I thought it would be hard for a battered or oppressed woman to keep her worries from him. All in all, I thought it was an excellent process, and it was lengthy, over a few weeks so there was no opportunity for a rushed decision.

"He describes an invisible meltdown taking place in the most important parts of the federal government, based on a theme of employing people to run very complex things, when they have no idea how those things work."

Living in the US, I can tell you that the meltdown of the Trump administration is anything BUT invisible!!

Thank God for freedom of the press.

To the world community....the US has never been in a bind this deep before, where a US President is beholden to a hostile foreign power (Russia). Many good people, including Robert Mueller III, are working diligently to get to the bottom of this.

There will be daylight at the end of a long night, of this I am confident. However, it is likely to be rough sailing until then.

Peace, and be safe, Chuck in Chicago IL USA

To the vast majority outside the US, the Trump-induced problems are both horriffic and hard to fathom.

Most Americans seem normal, so why did they vote for him? A few of us Brits, think him amazing. wonderful and brilliant. I am pleased to report there are very very few of those.

Fake news, not the stuff Trump calls "Fake News" but the 'real' fake seems to be behind most of the believers. Our own media (especially the BBC) seems to think the whole thing stemms from Russia where they have uncovered a host of paid news-generating fakers. In my own circle of friends, the only supporter has no TV and gets all his information online. (Yes I do get it that he could have the truth and I could have the fake, but the science I can prove (or dissprove) and that is way off base on the net-sourced news).

So I blame Russia too. Having a leader backed by them is a disaster! You have my sympathy as well, Chuck!

Thanks so much!

Australia has always been a faithful friend of these States, and vice-versa....

When Trump is gone, it will likely be on a greased rail, carried by the masses.

Watch for interesting news in coming days and weeks, the US news outlets are hinting at significant moves by Mr. Mueller. Cheers, Chuck!

According to the BBC "President Donald Trump will travel to California on Saturday to survey the damage and meet those affected."

I to had been pondering that question and wondering at his delay in visiting (although he was in Paris, France, when the fires started to hit). Maybe the smoke is too thick that his helicopters cannot fly, like they couldn't handle the Paris rain.
