I haven't read ALL the prep lists, but of those that I have, I've yet to see adhesives, glues, etc. If the BF flag goes up it will probably be difficult to replace broken items. I normally try to mend items before replacement anyways. Plus they're indispensable for some of the DIY projects.

Here's a few I have:

Super
Gorilla
Carpenter
Shoo-Goo
Silicon
Marine 5200
Rubber cement
Epoxy
Aerosol spray
Weatherstripping
Nail Bond
Hot sticks for glue gun (assuming power)

In a different class, I always make sure I have an assortment of sticky-back Velcro.

ETA JB Weld
       Double back tape
       Duct tape   Thanks survivorThumbs Up

Tuck tape
       Electrical tape
       PowerStick  Thanks gilmor! Thumbs Up
.

Since we're in a 'repair mode' I guess we can go a step further and include fasterners...

Nails
Wood screws
Sheet metal screws
Bolts
Nuts
Washers
Brads
Snaps
Rivets*

*I enjoy using rivets with sheet metal repairs/projects. You can purchase a comprehensive heavy duty kit reasonably with a little shopping. DO NOT get the $3.99 bin specials.

ETA dowels
sewing needles/thread - thanks survivor Thumbs Up

If you find yourself without any glue you can use animal bones and hide boiled down and the sap from many trees conifers for instance some of these glues are waterproof to,i haven't tried this yet its on my to do list.

I must admit that glue making is not on my list. By the time I get to that point I'll be swinging from the chandeliers, if not the jungle vines! LOL

Speaking of vines, let's kick this adhesive/fastener can down the road a little further.

Binding with twine, rope, wire, leather, Ty-Raps and even some types of vines can be considered 'fastening'.

NOTE: If you're binding with any non-metallic/non-plastic material, be sure to wet/dampen the material you're using. Wrap/bind tightly. When the material dries it will shrink, thus providing a more secure bond.

PowerStick, The Ultimate Adhesive Sealant (their words, but I agree 100%) made by Powers Fasteners Inc.

This stuff is excellent. Don't know if it is available at the "big box" stores (google it). . . I've glued cement blocks together, carpet to a curved piece of steel, large planters to paver stones, etc.

Comes in a tube, like caulk.

I always have a tube at the ready, but didn't even think of the adhesive / fastener catagory when prepping. . . GOOD catch, 2ifbyC

I would put WD-40 in the POL (Petroleum, Oils & Lubricants) category.

I agree that it does have its place in your preps! Thumbs Up
