This is similar to what I have for running my propane stove from a 20pound tank of propane.  I have used it camping with the lamp on top and two stoves connected and it worked fine.
 
I believe there are several companies that make similar devices and you should be able to find one in any store that carries camping supplies.
 
I have no connection to this company and chose this ad because it had a good picture that shows how the distribution post is used. 
 
At any rate it beats the heck put of buying little cylinders.

I got mine at the local sporting goods/camping store.  Works great.

Might I also suggest getting the longer supply hoses for ease of placing your appliances.

Thanks for posting this, we were talking about how to do this with all the propane stuff we have, and this is exactly what we we're looking for!
