Rare Superbug Gene Discovered on U.S. Pig Farm

Researchers have found a rare and frightening superbug gene on a U.S. pig farm and say their discovery suggests raw meat could carry the dangerous germs into the human population.

"The implication of our finding is that there is a real risk that CRE may disseminate in food animal populations and eventually contaminate fresh retail meat products," the researchers wrote.

For what it's worth, FluMom, I'd like to think that if the worst happened, you'd still be showing us how to get things done when the dust settled. I'm sure your son would agree if he was here. Sometimes it feels like you underestimate just how much others value and appreciate you.

Thanks guys, I would love to be able to save many people when TSHTF. I am a true believer in prepping for the worst. So no gas gadgets for me. I know when I am sawing down that tree and bucking it into chunks I will be hitting myself for not having a chain saw....LOL!

I hope we will all still have the net so we can "remain together".

FluMom: It wasn't more than 10-15 years ago that we didn't have internet! I'm not sure what I'll do without it when TSHTF! A few years ago we had an ice storm and I laughed at the kids for flipping the light switches every time they entered a room. It was thirty two days before we got electricity back (thank God for the gen-set) and five days before we got tv, radio and the net back. I hope we'll have the net too, but I buy hard copies of survival books because our power grid is so weak! As Med says "Not if but When", be strong! Irish
