RITM examining 3 Koreans with MERS-CoV symptoms M

Three Korean nationals were brought to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine Monday after showing possible symptoms of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV).

 

The three were brought to the Manila Doctors Hospital earlier in the day, radio dzBB's Cecilia Villarosa reported.

 

Citing information from the hospital's corporate communications unit, the dzBB report said the three were brought to the isolation room outside the emergency room.

 

The three were brought to the RITM via ambulance, the hospital added.

 

Manila Doctors is now waiting for the results of RITM's examination of the three patients.

On June 26, South Korean medical authorities announced that two more patients had died of MERS-CoV, bringing the number who have died of the disease to 31.

The South Korean health ministry had recorded 181 cases there, the largest outside of Saudi Arabia.
