However https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1553969/royal-navy-news-russia-warships-english-channel-north-sea-vladimir-putin-ukraine-war or https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1553969/royal-navy-news-russia-warships-english-channel-north-sea-vladimir-putin-ukraine-war ; According to previous reports, five Ropucha-class landing ships and one Ivan Gren-class landing ship were dispatched from Russia's Baltic fleet. DJ Most likely Russian is sending more ships from its Northern/Baltic fleet to reinforce its navy in the Black Sea. So far Russia, China's military is most "on land" but both countries increasing Navy activity. Iran may join drills a.o. in the Atlantic... |

I don't know what other countries reactions are when a missle test is announced. But Ireland makes jokes :-) One of the very long jokes below lol Vladimir Putin was sitting in his office wondering who to invade when his telephone rang. "Hello! Mr. Putin," a heavily-accented voice said. "This is Paddy down in the Harp pub in County Sligo, Ireland. I am ringing to inform you that we're officially declaring war on you." "Well Paddy," Putin replied, "this is indeed important news! How big is your army?" "Right now," said Paddy after a moment's calculation, "there is meself, me cousin Sean, me next door neighbour Seamus and the entire darts team from the pub. That makes eight." Putin paused. "I must tell you Paddy that I've got one million men in my army waiting to move on my command." "Begorra!", said Paddy. "I'll have to ring you back!" Sure enough the next day, Paddy called again. "Mr. Putin, the war is still on! We have managed to acquire some equipment!" "And what equipment do you have?", Putin asked. "Well, we have two combine harvesters, a bulldozer and Murphy's old tractor." Putin sighed. "I must tell you Paddy that I've got 6000 tanks and 4000 armoured personnel carriers. I've increased my army to 1.5 million since we last spoke." "Saints preserve us!", said Paddy. "I'll have to get back to you." Sure enough, Paddy rang again the next day. "Mr. Vladimir, the war is still on! We have managed to get ourselves airborne! We've modified Harrigan's ultra-light with a couple of shotguns in the cockpit and four boys from the Shamrock pub have joined us!" Putin was silent for a minute, cleared his throat then said, "I must tell you Paddy that I've got 1000 bombers and 2000 fighter planes. My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided surface-to-air missiles and since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!" "Jesus, Mary and Joseph!", said Paddy. "I'll have to ring you back." Sure enough Paddy called again the next day. "Top o' the mornin' Mr. Putin! I am sorry to tell you that we've had to call the war off." "I'm intrigued," said Putin. "Why the sudden change of heart?" "Well," said Paddy, "after a long chat over a few pints with me mates, there's no way we can feed two million prisoners." |

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

Very good position to locate: Deep sea off the continental shelf with only a western approach to it so easy to hide and protect any submarines. Close to where many Atlantic cables run. Ideally positioned to launch some serious heavy duty instant sunshine at the UK within no intermediate country or defences in the way should the UK start to get jiggy over any future Russian intervention in those eastern block states. |

Well, it's not just U.K. It's all of NATO. But it could put U.K. in a very sticky position. |

DJ, you really believe it's the U.S, and U.K. pushing this crisis? |

WM, https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/01/a-parthogenetic-conflict-there-is-no-russian-invasion-threat-to-ukraine.html or https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/01/a-parthogenetic-conflict-there-is-no-russian-invasion-threat-to-ukraine.html Both in the US and UK there are "internal reasons" for "bad Russia" bla-bla....https://thesaker.is/tuesday-morning-headlines-a-little-change-of-tone-or-not/ or https://thesaker.is/tuesday-morning-headlines-a-little-change-of-tone-or-not/ The EU NEEDS trade/energy with Russia, China, wants the Iran-deal repaired... Russia will be very angry if NATO would be including Finland, Sweden, Ukraine, Georgia....however the US may not like the idea of Russia-Iran-China forces in Latin America (Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua-building their own canal to create an alternative for the Panama Canal). Russia-with some OPEC countries-outcompeting US LNG... One good claim tells a lot; US has military bases, China has investments...investments are more welcomed then bases are... But we may see a lot of tension, things may go (very) wrong...false flags, coups, etc... |

The thing in the opinion link you posted is that the Ukraine has already asked to join NATO. Not to mention Russia's previous incursion and land grab from the Ukraine. I just can't see it as US and UK victimizing and threatening Russia somehow. Ukraine wants to keep their independence from Russia. In other words, it's their choice to join NATO. I also understand you believe there are things that are more important that should be on the agenda, though. |
